I’ll tell you what Jeff…… after I catch the fish of the day, i’ll let you demonstrate how to properly cook a fish over the campfire.
What’s black on the outside and cold in the middle?
Anything Cathunter tries to cook over a fire.

Another smiling face I somehow missed at breakfast. Congratulations!!
Cachew’s Powerpoint presentation can now be downloaded by clicking here- CACHEW.exe
I packed and and zipped it as much as I could, but due to all the great photos he used, the file is still 48.6MB.
Congratulations folks; that first 100 will stick in your mind forever. And to think theres still many to go! Life is good!
My favorite cachers…. still showing us how it’s done. Congratulations to the both of you!
Amazing! So many people were crowded around that shiney gold-plated ammo box, I still have yet to meet the crew. Great going!
An inspiration to us all!If anyone has presentation file(s) they want to e-mail me (or give me at breakfast tomorrow), I can upload them to the web and then post a link here that anyone can download the file from.
remove the nospam.

Bump!
Tomorrow is the day for a fine North Woods Breakfast.
Be there, or be….. left out!
Are you ready for the campout?
Believe it or not, it is only 3 weeks from today!!
I can’t help but to be excited and nervous knowing that time is winding down.
It will also be great to hit some caches in a part of the state I have not yet hunted in.
I Can’t Wait!!

Under the “Data” menu, I used the “Data Set Properties” to change the pushpins to red dots.
I can’t tell you anything about cachemate, but your pocket query should arrive in your e-mail within a few minutes of setting it up.
Make sure you selected that you want to recieve it today and that your e-mail address is assigned correctly at geocaching.com.

Unfortunately, archived caches still don’t show up in a pocket query.

I have a PDF file detailing the repair procedure. Send me an e-mail if you are interested & I will send it back.
This is actually a common problem with all the Etrex models. If you send it to Garmin, they send you back a “rebuilt” unit. Most who have used Garmin repair have gotten a replacement unit back in 3-5 days.
If you decide you don’t want to pay to have it fixed (and you are good at fixing stuff) you might want to give it a try yourself. 95% of the time, the problem is just a poor connection of the ribbon cable that connects the circuit board to the screen. It is delicate, but can be fixed by tightening the fit at the connector and using some adhesive to help support the connection.
If you are not any good at fixing stuff, you might want to just try “wacking” the side of the unit with the base of your hand. Oddly enough, this alone may get you several more months of use out it.
I think your idea would have been great before House of Brew got the automated stats page dialed in. Now it’s pretty much impossible to miss a milestone. I have always enjoyed picking through the “recent logs” page to see what the others are up to. Now it’s unnecessary, unless I want to beat the bot by a few hours.
I like the personalization of being first to congratulate someone I have met on the trail, vs. someone I have never met. I think milestones are something best shared on a personal level within our membership, but need not be a prominent part of the association website. (On the other hand, I am still all for integrating Brew’s site into the WGA site, much like Buxley’s site is now)
One of the things that I reflect on with much gratitude, and I’m sure many others too, is the e-mail I recieved from T&B after my FIRST find. I think it would be great if we could det up a system that makes sure every new WI cacher gets an introductory e-mail from the WGA. Most cachers I have met on the trail did not even know about the WGA. If it were not for you folks, i’m not so sure I would have kept on doing it, much less learn all the great things I have learned here. This could be set up very similarly to how the stats page works now, just looking for cachers logging their first find.
My $.02, take it for what it’s worth.
