A little late i’m sure, but I just e-mailed you a gpx file of all the caches in SE Wisconsin. It’s always nice to have these handy in a PDA or on a PC in case I cannot get online.
On another note, I recently purchased a jumpdrive that I keep all my important files on to carry with me everywhere I go. If you are not familiar, a jumpdrive is a USB memory card about the size of my index finger. It can be plugged into any pc with a USB port, and works like a portable hard drive. They come in various capacities, mine is 256 MB.
My worst experience while geocaching was being miles from home and having my PDA crash. With my jump drive, I can now walk into any library, school, or store that has PC’s and restore all my geocaching data in just a few minutes.

You know you are addicted when the worst thing in your life is that the nearest caches you have not found are over an hour drive away.

This has been a worsening issue for some time now. The servers Groundspeak uses simply do not have the bandwidth for the number of users logging on.
My question would be what is the financial situation at Groundspeak & when will the issue be solved? I encourage all WI cachers to become a premium member at geocaching.com and hope the $$ is there to get some more bandwidth.
Some stats to reflect the issue-
As of today, there are 92664 active caches in 202 countries.
In the last 7 days, there have been 68714 new logs written by 13838 account holders.Today’s Response from Jeremy Irish-
Workin’ on it.
We’re experiencing record traffic today, and we’re not *quite* set up to have multiple servers running the web site. But we’re close. By May 1st we will be much more responsive to peak times.Be gentle to the machines today. Try logging your finds tomorrow when traffic has diminished somewhat.

Groundspeak – The Language of Location(tm)I would recommend anything by Palm or Handspring. Pick one up on E-Bay for $30-$40 and use it for awhile. (make sure it includes a cradle to connect it to your PC) Then you will have a better idea of how you will use one and what features you would like if you decide to spring for a $$$ one.
Congratulations bljjhicks! The first 100 are the ones most often reflected on. Way to go!
Way to go HouseofBrew!. 200 toting the young ones is an even greater milestone. Thanks for all you do for us & keep on caching. Hope to run into you again soon.

My apologies, it appears my original post had a typo. It should have read %C%I NOT %C&I
:O
If you are using GPX Spinner, you can modify the GPX spinner.ini file to change the icons to whatever works for you. Here’s a cut & paste from the file that shows what to modify-
#**********************************************************
#
# This section defines how GPX Spinner will change the
# icon for the various cache types.
#
# The types are evaluated in the order shown here
# (but changing the order here will NOT change the
# order of evaluation.)
#
# Leave a definition blank if you don’t want any change
# to take place for that type (e.g. Micro_Not_Found =Traditional_Not_Found = Geocache

Good to see more active cachers in the south central area. Congratulations!!
Even more amazing considering they stopped caching for much of a year and then re-started. Congratulations!!
Very impressive!! Hope you can enjoy the sights while you maintain that ratio.
Congratulations!! At the next event, you are doing to have to share the story behind your handle.

Not to offend, but perhaps you should do some research on the West Nile Virus and Lymes Disease. I don’t spend any time worrying about either, but both have been becoming more and more prevelant.

Will this be ok for cacching?
As long as it works and comes with the hotsync cradle, it should be a good bargain for geocaching.
The Palm III has only 2 MB of memory, which is not a lot, but should be plenty to get you started.
Sounds like an inexpensive way to determine if you will want to throw down for a newer one in the future. -
