Looking at it from a different angle, having a well suited paddle (and boat) can make all the difference in the world. Because someone is a beginner is all the better reason to do it right the first time. Anything less risks unhappiness, injury, or worse. It’s more about technique, but technique comes best with gear that suits the paddler. (ask my rotator cuff).
Awwww come on Tami, a trooper like you can handle a simple plow.
Thanks again!
The Scuppernong habitat areas are subject to regular controlled burns. If you have been granted permission to hide caches in the area, it should be easy enough to maintain a regular line of communication in regards to when and where the burns will take place.
I have a few overhead transparencies and notes I used in a class I taught at GTC last year. I can snail-mail them to you if you think you might find them useful.
They rather enjoyed the cache I hid for the class, as it was full of M&M’s, Snickers Bars, and copies of Bret’s geocaching brochure. Naturally they learned not to expect edibles in regular caches too.
Sure thing Ken
Yep, that’s the one. I don’t get that way often or I would just do it myself.
Thanks Tami!
I seen Mr. Folk Tracker running down north Green Bay Road a couple of weeks ago.
I only run when something large and toothy is chasing me. It better be dang big too.
Do your research- there is a whole lot more to paddle craft than there was 10 years ago. Solo/Tandem, Whitewater/flat water, royalex/kevlar/carbon/fiberglass, capacities, portage weight, rocker, etc, etc.
Like a car- find something you will enjoy driving or there will be no purpose in owning it.

Windows XP should handle a zip file without any add-ons. If not, perhaps you should try extracting it with WinZip and see if that gives you any joy.
If that doesn’t work, let me know and I can provide you with an unzipped copy via download or e-mail if your mail server will accept an 840KB attachment.
WOW!
Those are some awesome and well thought-out features Jeremy!
Thanks for all the work you have been putting into this!
There is a great canoe/kayak club right in Eau Claire that you should look into. Several watercraft for sale at any given time via their web site-
http://purewaterpaddlers.com/Everyone has very good points. While adding approvers may serve as a temporary solution, I can’t help but to ask….
If the WGA can come up with our own state guidelines that would result in an increase of well thought out cache placements across the state, shouldn’t this should be proposed to Jeremy Irish by the WGA board?Much of the purpose of having an association such as ours is to guide the sport in a positive direction. The people that have been around for the long haul have a good idea what they like. Why sit and talk amongst ourselves when we could be doing something that will make a change for the better?
One of the greatest pleasures of geocaching…..

I’m not so sure….
Will it be considered a good thing when there are several caches within every square mile?
Will it be a good thing when people loose interest because most of the caches lack the qualities that attracted many of us to geocaching in the first place?
In many places and for many people, it might already be too late.
I managed to capture a movie of the news footage. Sorry about the quality- I clipped off the first 10 seconds and the sound is rather poor. It was the best I could do with a digital camera and 10 seconds of foresight, but you get the idea.
20.63 MB Windows Media File- Probably worthwhile if you have broadband.
