OK, ya got me……. What’s REI??
Congratulations rubeeslpr, on a great accomplishment. 100 is a number like no other! Hope to see you at 200 soon!
Thanks to those who have responded! Appears I have some shopping to do. I had not considered a headlamp, for fear of being found wearing it. But, the more I think about it, it seems like a great idea. I Had a 3-D cell MagLight, that was decent, but tumbled down the side of a cliff, to never be found again. (thanks Otter)
Looked at an LED light some time ago, and wasn’t impressed by it’s output, although some more research is in order, as the battery life issue has become more important. I keep the million CP “deer shiner” in the car, as it is way better than the headlights in the cachemobile, but also weighs about 15 lbs. I have a small G.I. flashlight that has poor output, but I like removable red lens cover for covert caching. The ARC light sounds handy too. Thanks again…..Enlightened!Now- any comments on batteries that will survive in the car all winter?

I don’t like to say that any one cache is better than another, as each is to his own, and I have enjoyed them all. These are a few I have done recently, that are all not too far off the freeway-
Short hike with an awesome view-

Goat Mountain – http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid={46009A19-F054-4223-B82F-0 E32D07A53B6}There are plenty of good ones out there. Reading the cache page is usually a pretty good leader as to what you may find. Coming in the back way always proves a great experience for me, but many might not enjoy the pain & suffering I put myself through. Key when traveling is to give yourself plenty of extra time. Have a great trip!

I hit a few yesterday & noticed they had just pummeled pretty much every one of them. Great job on 600!!
Well Done Chiot, that’s a lot of miles in the north country!
I was really very suprised to not have come across a tick all year……yet
Figured it must have been a bad year for the ticks, and a good year for the cachers.
Thanks to T&TB, I now know all about Coccinella septempunctata.

500 in less than a year and keeper of a good percentage of the caches in northern WI. Outstanding, Outstanding, Outstanding!!
Wow, 500;
Give me a few more days…….
Well Done Team Flushingrouse!! 100 is a great accomplishment.
Well done Tenner! The next 200 should only take half as long now, right?
Nice work ssphoto!! Illinois caches don’t count though, right?
Great job Raindog! I think the first several thousand caches are the most important in a cachers career.
I too was lucky enough to enjoy the fine company of some great cachers (and a few fine people too). I opted to head further north after the feasting to check out the beautiful fall colors from the middle of Trude Lake. Thanks to GrouseTails for bringing me back to the area after a 20 year absense.
