I don’t think the resorts need any more money…the fact that they are charging guests for the “kit” annoys me tremendously!

I just want to place some caches. I work in Lake Geneva. We have beautiful grounds and several seldomly used trails. There are a lot of areas that most people don’t even get to see.

Many times when people are going to meetings/outings they travel with family members. Though there are several other activities available, if the resort were to offer geocaching to guests, those not golfing or working would have something else to do on the property.

Can’t speak for all resorts, I just know what would be fun at my resort.

Good luck with that one! I’ve seen people trying to get that started for as long as I’ve been a memeber here. It would be a very nice thing, but as long as so many get offended so easily, I don’t see it happening. (IMHO)

Thanks for asking the question. My questions were eventually answered, so from where I sit it’s fine to close the thread…as long as it doesn’t disappear. I would like for others to be able to read what was said here.

(And they call me a MajorBrat!…see what you started?! LOL!)

    Edited for added thoughts:

Actually, I don’t think you should close the thread. When people have said enough, or read enough, they will simply leave the thread alone. That’s what usually happens to these threads, right?

The only reason some have issue with this one is that it’s not fitting into what they deem as “their ideal thread”…why not leave it for those who want to continue to be here?

That’s cool! I tell Bob all the time that I should see if my resort will allow me to “drop” a couple there. Perhaps this article can be used as a “selling point”…time will tell…

Maybe this is just what we need! Maybe it’s time to allow people to express their thoughts without having someone tell them their opinion doesn’t matter.

There’s nothing wrong with a little “heated” discussion every once in a while.

As has been pointed out so many times on WGA threads, people can either read, or not…it’s their choice. They also have the power/right to reply.

Step off the soap box, get your head out of the clouds, wake up and smell the coffee…whatever cute little saying you choose…just open your eyes to a world that is REAL!

Thanks for answering my question! I’ve never put out a “Members Only” cache, so I was unaware of the ability to audit the visits to the cache page. Your answer is exactly what I was looking for when I originally asked the question.

But if you had a couple of questions to ask why didnt you just ask them! The boards are just the same as the last hobby I did! People are quick to jump on people that post here when they dont like what they post! People like you are what makes the hobby go down hill. They dont want to post questions for the fear that someone will jump down there throat! With that said I am done with responding to you!

Are you kidding? Perhaps you should start reading this thread from the top. You will see that I did ask questions. Marc thought I was playing and responded as such. You on the other hand, thought I was out of place for asking simple questions. You then felt the need to attack me. I replied in the same manner as you and you didn’t like it!

“People are quick to jump on people that post here when they dont like what they post!” Looked in the mirror lately?

You have no right to judge me. You have no right to judge anyone. You don’t know me so stop pretending you do. Don’t think your posts are any better than those of any other member on these forums. Each of us has the same right to be here and to post our thoughts, feelings, questions, ideas…

If you want to get to know me, by all means, e-mail me and we can share some correspondence.

“With that said I am done with responding to you!” ROFLMCLHAO!

Thanks to LostBy7 I got the answer to one of my questions. Marc took care of the other one.

Though none lately, we previously had many occasions to visit with Gil and Dairy. She never passed up the opportunity to make us laugh. She’ll be missed!

I’m not sure why it is that I’m not allowed to ask a question on these forums without having people going on the defensive. The original question about the point was just a question. After reading what some others have written, I can now see that it’s simply your keeping track of your cache activity. That’s pretty much all you would have had to reply to me, instead of the sarcastic, petty response you gave.

As for the second question, it’s obvious where to find the number of visits on this thread. The question was asking how you find out on the cache page…not the thread here. And I’m still asking that question. How do you know how many times someone visits your cache page? Is this something that’s on all cache pages, or just the ones open to premium members?

    As for this one:

What makes your reply any better than mine? Not that I need to explain myself to you, but I had a couple of questions, so I asked them. If you don’t like them, the “back button” works on your computer as well.

How do you know how many times someone looked at the cache page?

in reply to: A “new look” on the GC website #1738581

Very cool! I was playing with some stuff on the site too. I like the text. I always felt like someone was “yelling” at me when I looked at the pages before. Now it’s more like a friendly little place to be. LOL!
