I have run into ticks the last two weekends in Southeastern Wisconsin.
I know the deer tick is very small.
The ticks I’m seeing are larger – but do not have the typical pattern (variegated blacks, browns) on their back that you see with a wood tick.
I checked with the local DNR for help in identifying these ticks – the information they had was pitiful! (Primarily, only identification of the deer tick.)
Does anyone have a good source for identifying ticks?

Congratulations! A fantastic accomplishment!
I just met you (and Seth) recently and have enjoyed caching with you and getting very helpful “?” hints!! Can’t believe you guys tackled ten caches in the Sunday’s rain!! (But I can understand that’s how you make it to 3000!!) Great Job!!I have purchased them off eBay. You get a great deal on the cans – I got three for $9.99. However, the shipping can kill you – I believe I paid $11.99! That average a little over $7/can. (They were delivered to my doorstep!!)
I gotta my calendar for this one next year!
Looks like everyone had a blast!
Hey – I’ve done a little homework on that PI stuff. I found an excellent little tutorial for those who haven’t had personal experience with poison ivy.
