Maybe try replacing the container with something that takes the guesswork out of closing, like an ammo box or a Lock ‘n’ Lock? I’ve never had a moisture problem when using one of these, because it’s pretty obvious whether you have closed it correctly or not.
I also put my logbook in a separate zip-lock from the cache swag, so in case somebody puts in something pointy, at least they’re not going to pop a hole in the bag with the log, so it’ll stay dry.
As for swag quality, there’s not much you can do about that. When I first started, I put nice things in the container, but that was back when people also brought equally quality things to trade with. Nowadays, my cache swag shopping is done at the dollar store where I can still get some nice looking things, but I don’t feel as bad if I check on my cache and it’s full of McToys and golf balls.
I don’t get too upset about the swag though. If I like the cache’s location, I’ll just concern myself with making sure the log stays dry over fretting about swag quality. Since it all tends to deteriorate anyway, I tend to just clear out the crap rather than try to restock it.

We’re ordering the ice cream for the event this Friday, if you would like to attend and have not signed up yet, please do so as soon as possible so we know how much ice cream to order.
See you there!!!
You mean next Friday, right?

I believe that if you go through the time and effort to place a temp then you will find it’s worth a real find. Then it should be logged as a find. I know my now wife had sufferd an torn muscle doing temp caches at a WGA event. She still has trouble and now after all that she couldn’t log them. That means it’s not worth chancing it to find them!! We take a chance going out for a cache every day. If it’s not logable WHY TAKE THE CHANCE!!! Nothing GAINED or LOST!! USE your heads!! I hope we can keep our events open for temp logs!! If NOT, I will not help or have another! The Tapps SR

I just installed it as well. I cant believe how fast it is. Loads pages with no delays. I haven’t noticed any of the “flake out” at all. I can’t seem to get you tube to work which is weird.
I think its freaking awesome.
You may need to go to Adobe’s site and re-install the Flash plugin.
I tried it. It’s definitely a beta. I’ll be sticking with Firefox for now.
Here’s the story behind Chrome in comic book form.
“Don’t usually do multi caches” missing from the poll options…
I did my first multi in a long time while I was at Geobash, and that reminded me why I usually skip them. It was a four or five stager that just had you walking back and forth across a city park. The final was nice, but there didn’t seem to be any point to the initial stages other than to make you walk around a lot before you got to the end.
I know not all multis are like that, and I have done several that take you on nice hikes, but for the most part, I’d rather do a nice single stage cache than a multi.
That said, I’ve also got The Journal on my list of want-to-do caches; a day or two of hunting a multi for just a single smiley!

I’ll be at NE710.
To stir the pot a little more, I’ll come out and say that I didn’t even vote for mine and was rooting for the stylized “g” logo, mainly for the reason I mentioned in the quoted post above: it looks too much like the WSGA logo.

Professional “help” has been discussed.
Yeah, that sounds about right… 😆
Good luck!
Speaking of the DeLorme Challenge…
It’s been noted that the 2008 atlas is much different than previous versions. Since newcomers to the challenge might not have access to an old version, attached to this post is a file listing each page and the coordinates of the border on each side. This is the same data that the DeLorme Checker uses to figure our which pages you’ve completed.
Unfortunately, I bought a new GPSr last year, so I don’t see myself buying a new one that can support Whereigo caches for many years.
I wouldn’t mind tagging along with someone who owns a Colorado so I can try finding one, but unless Garmin comes out with a firmware update for the 60CSx to add that ability in, I don’t have any real interest in them otherwise.
