I’d be in favor of a different date. I have a graduation to attend on May 15th, so I would not be able to make it to the campout if it were the 14-16th.
Well, it’s not all bad news for travel bugs.
Here’s one that made its way through the area and actually reached its goal! Good for Tucker!

Probably once a day or so if I notice new logs. I just updated it again around 8:00 this evening.

Congrats! If I recall correctly you were present for my first find! Here’s to your next 200!

Nice job on the stats!! What are you using to generate the reports automatically? Perl or Tcl? Or did you just do this by hand?
PHP and mySQL. Graphs done with PHP GD library extensions.

Very cool! (Is there a way to see a team ranking? I know, I know, it’s not a competition…but I’d like to see how far behind Lil’Otter we were.)
Actually, in the spirit of the whole “it’s not about the numbers” thing, I deliberately left off team comparisons. If you really want to know, you can click through the list of team names for the ones you are interested in.
I’d like to do something similar to this for some of the local caches. To do this though, I’ll have to figure out how to parse web pages to get at some of this automagically. Anyone have any tips?
I’m guessing either a lot of people haven’t gotten around to logging their finds yet, or perhaps some of our newer members aren’t aware that they are allowed to log in each of their finds. There were several people that we walked around with, but haven’t put in a log yet. (Caching Out?)
Maybe a general email as a reminder?
And NO, NO, NO! I would NEVER EVER do ANYTHING like this when I should be doing important things like WORKING! Um, yeah…
I’ve always though that for a one-day event like a picnic, I’d prefer not to have to drive six hours to get there and have to drive another six to get home after a long day of walking. Coming from Kenosha, that would probably be somewhere in the SE quarter of the state.
For a campout though, I’d be willing to travel pretty much anywhere in the state if it’s get there on a Friday, cache all day Saturday, then take it easy on Sunday and head for home.
That being said, Bong in Kenosha County, less than a half hour from my house, would be an ideal spot for an event, if not a campout then the next picnic. There are two main campsites, a group camping site, and over 45 miles of trails on a wide variety of terrain (ask anyone who’s found “Gee, I’m a Tree”!)
Unfortunately, my State Park camping experience is limited to Peninsula, Governor Dodge, and High Cliff, so I’d have to defer to someone else for recommendations in other areas of the state.
Hmm… that would certainly be a good dis-incentive for “Do Not Find This Cache”…

I will be donating a cammo-painted ammo can complete with cache trading items, laminated “what is this thing?” card, and the new Mighty Morphin’ Travel Bug to use as bait for a first finder.

Even better. Then you don’t have to pay shipping.
Congrats, you two! Once again, (for what, the third time in the last week or so?) I have the honor of having one of my caches host someone’s centennial find! And I know it’s one that you were itching to get off your not-found list…
Halfway to a thousand! Keep it going!
I’ll bring a case or two of water (probably the 12-oz. “shorty” kind.)
Congrats! I’m honored that you did one of mine for your 500th! Glad you enjoyed the hunt!
Congrats! Talk about adding some distance into your bug!
Makes for a nice map…
