Did you realize how many of the caches listed are archived? Generally, a bookmark should be for active caches. Caches others might want to hunt.
There are many reasons why people bookmark cache listings whether they are active or archived.
Looks like the geocaching.com search function filters out “SO” as a common word or something therefore returning nothing. Interesting dilemma for a cache series to not be able to find it with the simple search due to the series naming convention.
Congrats!
Lake Lenwood looks pretty decent. Anyone camp there before? Comments?
Or do what he says…
This is exactly the reason why should track your milestones on the WGA milestones application 🙂
No harm done if one of your logs is deleted. Your milestones are what they are no matter what your find count somewhere says…
You also could always just type your profile page milestones rather than using cachestats that always reinterprets all of the data all the time.

I deal with ID theft all the time in my line of work
So what you’re sayin’ is don’t get on your bad side?
I will pay attention when I get my cache stats up and running again what happens to my list of milestones. Many issues have kept me from returning to the habit of doing this.
Never built a puzzle based on cacher profile pages… I have on cache logs and seen logs get removed and/or caches archived though 😯
What page are you referring to?
This one?
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=-cheeto-The initial profile page is built by the cacher and whatever they type in there (or paste from another program….) If you are referring to that page it very well could have been a change in the PQ that is then used by the CacheStats program he uses and how that program interprets cache find order based on what’s in the PQ file.
There has been a lot of ordering changes. Notice how the logs on new caches appear “before” the publish log nowadays?
I find this story quite odd, unless there is a heavy snowfall and your car is blocking the roadway for snowplows, don’t most police tag a vehicle 24hrs before it gets towed?
Either The car was seen parked there a couple days in a row or the cop wasn’t following normal procedures.Nope, wasn’t winter. Story is true. The cop had called my home # then apparently 5 minutes later called a towing company. Not sure what proper police procedure is in this case but he definitely was not interested in tagging the vehicle only towing.
You just never know what “procedure” a police officer will follow whether its regarding parking or anything else.
I agree, if you are carrying tons of high cost stuff in your vehicle then you should not advertise you’ll be gone. Alternative is not to carry high cost items in your vehicle! Then they can never get stolen! 🙂 If they steal your vehicle, well then that’s what you buy car insurance for and that will give the police something legitimate to be doing rather than ticketing and towing vehicles that may be parked in legit spots.
I still think if your out caching alone it looks like a good idea to leave one of these in your vehicle. Particularly from a safety standpoint which is what this looks like it was designed for, not necessarily from a “dont tow my car” perspective which is probably just a side benefit.
I think everyone will think what they want to think about the idea. Personally for someone who doesn’t carry much in my vehicle and I drive a vehicle that I bought for under 10 grand and I have car insurance and I have a cell phone owned by my employer that is not in my name all those things add up to thinking there’s not much that would persuade me not to utilize this in the future. If you carry tons of electronics in your car, own a 30 thousand dollar SUV, and live in a high crime area well all those things point to maybe skipping on this idea when you are caching.

Also, thanks Averith for the heads up on the placard. Saves work!
I don’t leave things in my car that could be stolen and I buy cheap used vehicles. I buy car insurance. If someone steals my identity they won’t get all that much.
I see where you are coming from in today’s society but people post their phone number when they sell a car or place an add in the paper, etc. Having my phone number posted for a brief time parked alongside some trail probably is pretty low risk in comparison to other actions.
Also, if you read my post above I did park in a designated spot and the cache owner would have likely posted coordinates for EXACTLY where I parked if they thought of posting parking coords. The point of my post is even if it looks like an appropriate place to park it might not be!

A very good tip!
Even when you think you are parking in an “okay” spot, it might not be a half-bad idea to leave a note. I parked in a spot that appeared to be an official paved parking area for a hwy-side trail. A police officer driving by had decided it was “unsafe” where it was parked and made the decision to tow immediately. I remember seeing a tow truck drive by and slow down near our van and turn around and how fast I ran to save my vehicle from being towed and my family from being stranded out on this trail, at night.
The cache owner had even discussed with the police the parking situation there and it was recognized that you could park there. Apparently you can but I guess because it was dark out, it didn’t make sense for someone to be out there on the trail at night…
We were there at night because the cache owner recommended visiting at night and there was a meteor shower that night.
So yeah, I agree a nice laminated note tucked in the driver’s window on the inside might not be a bad idea. Perhaps with a cell phone # on it if you’re carrying one. They will call your home phone before towing. I got home and there was a message on the machine from the police officer.
I think I’m going to make one up soon. Thanks for the tip!
Not sure where that jacket order form went but here’s something close:
http://www.cafepress.com/wigeocaching.3017248We could just Iron-on a “1K” anywhere you choose.
another option would be to get in contact with seldom|seen. he might be able to help you out in these regards as well.
