with any new guideline there will be people who want to bend the rules a bit
There’s always a few out there bending the rules. Changing guidelines doesnt cause rule bending… though it may cause the angle of the bend to increase 🙂
I am all in favor of Guideline changes worded like this that allow the local reviewers to assist rather than just sending you on your way. It’s much easier to work with area reviewers than the “almighty Groundspeak appeals court”. Trust me, our reviewers are great, whether you love them or hate them they are nicer and better at communicating…
if they are true multi waypoints with containers they cannot be closer than .1 to any other cache waypoint with containers. I would go the virtual route on one of them (as noted by Jeremy) to save you the headache. It’s a real good solution for this type of problem. Even if you own both caches, you cannot yourself break the rules.
Make one of them a “reference point” waypoint type. Find something or somethings that can make up the numbers for the next clear waypoint coords.
hmmm… cutting a geocoin in half… that gives me an idea!

I like that the group is finally taking a stance on the issue. Whether the entire group population agrees or not, at least it’s a stance and it’s a big plus that it’s based on the “popular vote” of that population.
congrats mike!
Any encryption on the back?
Sorry, no encrypted message on the back of the shirts with this design.you could always put your own encrypted message on the back once you get your t-shirt 🙂 [/quote]
I guess by definition it’s a puzzle:
“a toy, problem, or other contrivance designed to amuse by presenting difficulties to be solved by ingenuity or patient effort.”
at least the “patient effort” part and the “amuse” part make it a “puzzle”
we had a laugh when we saw the picture… reminded me of those “stare at the famous painting” emails where the ghost face shows up and it screams.
I noticed those update threads as well. Will be nice to follow to see updates they make to the site… The bugs with publishing seem to be resolved from what I saw while editing cache pages yesterday. Atleast the obvious stuff we were seeing appears to be resolved. I wouldn’t want their jobs… I’ll stick to mine thanks.
Unfortunately, the accuracy of the receiver was not good — I was consistently 50-60 feet west. Not sure why — after a while, things returned to “normal”.
Probably because you were hunting caches all placed by the same cacher who had a 50-60 foot accuracy problem and their unit was also very precise 🙂
3.81 is not to far off from what I saw today was 3.54 in Appleton. When they raise it 5 or 10 cents or more per hike it won’t take long to reach that price.
Guess that is what I get for not reading on
warning: reading this string of posts will take 20 years off your social life.
I would say they have bugs in their cache publish function now and it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with “messy or lazy” html code. The page is incorrectly modifying the html I submit and there seems to be no rhyme or reason. it turned into 77??? at the end of one of my paragraphs. then I modified it and it then inserted a bunch of
‘s where I did not have them before after each word in a different section of the page. It seem’s you might be “rolling the dice” as to whether you can get a page correctly published at the moment….-cheeto-
So what are YOU doing to save the Earth today?
Not sure yet about today but…
I hosted and ran a CITO event this past weekend. We separated out recyclables while cleaning up the park too! One of the most rewarding experiences I have had, ever.
As part of the event prep, seldom|seen and I published 2 new caches with Earth Day related themes…
GC1B245 – What a load of Garbage?
GC1B0JF – Dude, Don’t Waste the Resins!
(Bit of caution on publishing caches like this, make sure that your page does not sound like an “agenda” or it won’t be published…)A few weeks ago I added this text to my work email signature:
Please consider the environment before printingTypically, I have not in the past been all “gung ho” on the particular subject but my family has always religiously recycled and tried to limit garbage and reused items. We too are converting all the bulbs in our house.
Happy Earth Day!
