What about WGA stickers that go on the back of your cache vehicle 🙂 Kinda like the Karate America one’s. I used to have an FTF sticker on my vehicle but that went away with the vehicle. I actually like showing up to a cache location parking area and seeing cars with “signs” that a cacher is near 🙂
Actually they exist already, bonus! — http://www.cafepress.com/wigeocaching.3335614
Haven’t done a full inventory but most of mine should have it.
The logo is how I learned about the group and life would just not be any fun without checking the forums here every day.
dethroning Dave on the Lonely Cache Game for March?
the clock is ticking….
Frizz – that is funny! I saved that one off.
It also means he has to move 🙂
Duplicate Bridge Tournament – I was scared off from this one as well 🙂 It’s one of the only “Lonely” caches in a 40 mile radius around me that I did not try to find.

I prefer a respectful simple hide in a cemetery versus having to come up with the coordinates. I do however understand the value of a history lesson as much as the next person.
Also I wish that the Reviewers would not allow posting the coordinates to the entrance and calling it a Multi. I beleive that if it’s classified as a multi, the posted coordinates should be the Marker that you are required to find. Otherwise to me it should be posted as type Unknown. Especially, when the marker you are trying to find is described like marc describes them 🙂 Like “find anna” and there are a handful of markers with anna on them.
And I agree with Zuma on the use of markers. They should be standing upright because we have snow covering the ground for many months making some un-huntable for many months out of the year. And we should not be encouraging any sort of digging the snow in cemeteries. If as an owner you choose to make it unhuntable in the winter, please add the attribute AND put in the listing to not hunt it in the winter out of respect for the surroundings.
While hunting lonely caches I have gotten to more WSQ’s than I have hunted before. It does add to the variation of the sport which is a positive. I just wish that owners would post the coordinates of the marker rather than the entrance so that were at least in the ball park when we hunt them!
…if Sagasu’s going to beat me to the FTF on a cache that’s less than 2 miles from my house anyway?
welcome to our world! you will come to learn about Dave and eventually you will come to enjoy the FAD – First after Dave as much as the FTF 🙂
Congrats are in order for the Zuma! Some day (way in the future) I might be celebrating that many — but I doubt it.
So you going to log that ftf?
I hope you enjoyed your recent trek through “our neck of the woods”.
Also, for discussion, it might be possible to develop a short course in “wilderness emergencies,” that could cover the medical emergencies most likely to befall hikers and geocachers. Besides CPR, reasonable topics might include first aid for bleeding, fractures, sprains, snake bites, bee stings and knowing how to recognize when it is best to contact EMS for bigger incidents like head trauma, stroke and heart attack.
And also tips for getting EMS to you when you happen to be a mile and a half from the nearest road…
I do not beleive an adult AED as the one’s typically seen in public can be used on a child but I will say that my family is one who may at some point have a forseen cardiac emergency. My daughter is a post open-heart surgery patient with continuing cariac needs and potentially more surgery down the road. She walks into a school almost every day that does not have an AED and has very poorly trained staff when it comes to medial emergencies. I am willing to bet based on many of the responses that we would be much “safer” at a geocaching event than her being in her own school. And that’s without an AED 🙂 Just my 2 cents…
I have not been to an official WGA event as of yet, but based on the numbers of people that turnout it might be in our best interest to pursue AED donations to the places that these events are frequently held at.
Oh and thanks guys for the local reference…
Maybe this will help…

Congrats Alex on the milestone.. since your not really big on numbers I thought I would mention that while “chasing lonely’s” I came across some of the best caches I have done to date and sure enough, they came from within that brain of yours. Some of them mentioned in your hints compilation in fact. If cacher’s realized just how cool some of these creations are they certainly would not get on the lonely list! Keep on keeping on…

One interesting thing to note is that when we hunt caches the “small” varierty and containers smaller than “regular” typically have “neater” trade items for kids than the ammo cans. Small pins, super balls, commemerative quarters, that kind of thing most often get’s better reactions than old books, broken toys, and the all-too-famous Mcdonalds hapy meal toy.
I have yet to open a cache and go “oooh, I need that” and trade for something I need/want. I have traded some cache containers and such and of course moved trackables but for me it’s definitely not about the “swag” or as the kids call it “the treasure”.
If you want to own a cache and keep the swag/trade items stocked to a certain level of quality. Have at it! I commend you. I certainly like opening a cache that I know has been maintained for quality and I would definitely express my thanks in my logs.
