yeah, i blew that one too when i made my first order 🙁 But i think I made up for it when I made another order and included everything. Great idea for pickup at the event and saving on shipping! See you all there.

    Thanks for your support!

Drove down our stretch of Highway yesterday (before the storms) and there’s little to no snow left, lots of standing water as expected, and a fair amount of trash. Our section looks “cleaner” than others though 😉

Looks like it’s gonna be chilly so dress warm! And let’s hope the forecasted snow for Friday is rain.

Excellent Job with the new redesign on the website. Just one question. Why is the page predominantly blue when the WGA colors have always been green? It kind of clashes with the LOGO.

We had a vote but you were not here. 😉

Alternative reason 1: Website committee is 70% color blind.

Alternative reason 2: It’s only blue this year. Next year it will be pink to balance out the equation of life.

Alternative reason 3: Have you seen our event shirts? It’s an integral part of our advertising campaign — clashing colors.

Alternative reason 4: It’s part of the current boards top secret plan to get everyone to hate the current logo again so it can be changed again next year.

Alternative reason 5: It was the default install color theme. We were told that if we changed it that we were opening ourselves up for more evil robot hacker activity.

Alternative reason 6: Blue is the new black. Really it is, I checked.

Alternative reason 7: Blue is a calming, cool, relaxing color. That way everyone’s visits to the thread stealers forum is like a trip to the spa.

Alternative reason 8: Zuma said he liked it. Oh wait, he’s color blind too. Nevermind.

Alternative reason 9: We studied all of the avatars used over the past 9 months and figured out blue was the best complimentary color. Hue was a little more challenging so we went with the first choice in the list.

Alternative reason 10: Heads, Blue. Tails, Green. It was Tails. Best 2 out of 3, Heads came out on top.

    I think I’ll stop at 10…

hopefully our reviewers will keep the standards high, even if groundspeak says they can highlight a guardrail, I would hope they don’t allow it

And yet an physical cache can highlight a guardrail. Sorry, I’ll stop now.

I just hope that whatever form they take they don’t become “guard rail” types – one on every corner in meaningless locations that highlight/showcase nothing of worth.

Sorta describes many geocaches out there today. Just one man’s opinion.

Actually, it seems these are on there way back to “verboten”. At least the largest ones.

I know that I may have to throw that precedent away if need be.

Indeed you may have to. Past precedence doesn’t mean much when it comes to publishing new caches. Rules change. Situations change. The game itself changes.

You are allowed to appeal the reviewers decision. However, an appeal on proximity may not fair well as you go up the chain.

The path of least resistance (if you can) is to move yours.

Good luck on getting your new cache published!

in reply to: Group Camping at Hartman for Spring Campout #1941895

The registration page is now live for the group camping. The store will open very soon to pay for the group camping. Please have patience with this process as we work through setting up our first event and “store” in the new website.

Hi, I am wondering why the camping event at Hartman Creek State Park in May is not showing up on the event calendar. I hope it is still happening as we have reserved a site specifically for the event. Thanks.
    Geo Owls

Yes it’s still happening. In order to list this particular event on the WGA site, the online registration and store for the group camping had to be setup and we were waiting until the move to the new site was completed to take advantage of the “new store”.

I’ll only respond to this post and not the other duplicates.
