My family decided they’re not coming to the event. I will not be camping in the park. I found alternative sleeping quarters.
For those coming to the Geo-Picnic event, don’t forget to bring some money to help support the WGA and buy some neat new WGA merchandise. Donations will be welcome as well.
WGA Shirt: (first sold at the West Bend cache Ba$h)
Pricing is the same as at the cache Ba$h:
Youth Sizes – $10
Adult Sizes up to 2XL – $12
Adult 3XL & 4XL – $14
Geo-Picnic Event Shirt:
Adult L and XL $8
2XL $10
2010 WGA LE Pathtag Set of 5 in plastic holder:
Very limited quantities. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! $12.

2010 WGA Geocoin:
And most importantly, if the stars align just right we will have the 2010 WGA Geocoin for sale as well. $12

Planing on being there as we plan on being in the area on Friday instead of Saturday.
Awesome. Thanks for helping out!
Like all variations of the activity, some like them and some are not interested in the least.
My only fear is that eventually, they too will go the way of ALR’s, Locationless, Webcams, Virtual, etc. further lessening the variety of the game which doesn’t benefit anyone.
One thing to keep in mind is that Groundspeak guidelines are more strict on the placement of new challenge caches. Perhaps one of our reviewers can speak to this recent change in the guidelines.
There is a recent thread on the Groundspeak forums regarding a potential new Challenge cache owner having to prove that they have or someone else has actually completed the challenge in order to publish. An interesting twist to the idea. I wonder how many we would have if the owner of the potential challenge had to prove they completed it first before it could be published? I have a goal to finish my own challenge cache someday. (GC1NZNF) (shameless plug alert)
Door prizes have been added to the CITO event. We’ll draw prizes at roughly 9:45am. Must be present to win.
We’ll also have juice for the non-coffee drinkers in the crowd as well.
Please join us if you can!

Don’t feel bad – I’m insane. I did Wet Maze today.
Did you enjoy your visit to the swamp?

To de-clarify a little bit…..
The lighthouse coin was *not* produced by the WGA, but instead by a board member (LightningBugs Mum).
She graciously donated all profits generated by the coin sales to the WGA, but fronting the money to produce it, as well as selling it was all her gig.
I purchased two of these coins from her and donated them to the WGA to keep as part of our history, as the WGA (at the time) had none of them.
Thanks for the insight!! 🙂
glorkar – There is a very limited edition 2-Tone metal version (individually numbered) of the first WGA Geocoin that was produced in 2005. It has not been sold.
The board can opt (by majority vote) to recognize someone by giving them this coin. To those that have received one, it’s probably worth a whole lot more to them than a Geocoin. It’s not rewarded to past board members just for being a board member. There’s a plaque for that recognition. It’s more of a special recognition.
We keep trying to give Team Deejay one for creating the lonely cache game but he say’s he’s not into coins…

Back on topic 😉
RJ – I’ll bring it to the picnic.
One interesting thing about this coin is it seems to be the first coin that I am actually second guessing whether to activate or not. I’ve always activated all coins in my collection but it seems “wrong” to activate this one for some reason…

Shane, which one are you lacking? I will keep my eye out.
The one that can’t be bought. 😀
Here is a PDF version.
I’ve released an activated Cheeto’s flavored Jellybean into the wild: TB3TY7X
2 more of them (unactivated) will be donated as prizes at the WGA Geo-Picnic at Roche A Cri State Park on Sept 18th.
Congrats on 2000 Pete!!

Well, 4 logs was a bit anticlimatic! 😉
It “harvests” logs on the page currently. Can’t go back and find missed logs.
Thanks Jeremy!!!
I noticed this as well. I posted a note to the WGA Website Committee alerting them to the problem.
It’s been broken since Groundspeak updated their site on Tuesday and it seems to break every time an update occurs. 😥
