FYI – Roughly half of the inventory of Pathtag sets of 4 have been purchased since the online sale opened Tuesday evening!!
If your thinking about putting in an order on the pathtags you may want to before they are gone.

Welcome to the WGA Muggle B!
It’s interesting to hear of your method. But if we all think about caching and how we cache, most people put away the GPS once they get in the general area. (well some might walk in cirlces staring at the device…)
You just use a different approach to getting to that general area than others. In urban/city environments with great maps and satellite views this sounds like it’s easy for you. (and probably would be for the experienced geocacher to be honest)
The challenge is probably in the more rural wooded areas where landmarks are less and you have to rely more on your skills and background to get to that general area successfully. (I would probably fail miserably at this! I get turned around enough with a GPS let alone without one!)
It’s definitely an interesting twist on the game. It does make you unique and as someone already said, you’ve made a reputation that has gotten attention 😀
Good luck on those hunts!
Just please do us all a favor. If and when you decide to place a cache, please borrow “dad’s” GPS. 😉 (actually joking aside, providing good coordinates is an absolute must for hiding a cache and google does get it wrong some of the time)
Sorry, this wasn’t originally mentioned in the announcement. It is present on the Geocoin item page in the store.

I had 1 coin and 1 pathtag and it was $5 shipping. Added another pathtag and it stayed at $5. Didn’t try it with just a coin though.
This is correct. We charge separate shipping for the pathtags and the coins because they are shipping at separate times.
I just added 1 coin to my cart and clicked checkout and shipping says $2.50.

It wants to charge $5 shipping for 1 coin. Is that correct?
Is the minter (is that really a word?) shipping directly to the buyer or is a WGA member receiving then distributing the coins?
Thanks 🙂
To answer your question on shipping, a WGA member (or members) will be shipping the coins to the buyer.
Did you only put in a single coin? No other items in your cart?
This year’s WGA Geocoin and Pathtags projects were worked on by a committee of WGA members. Without the entire team’s hard work and dedication these projects would not have been possible.

Jennifer Mode (LightningBugs Mum)Also thanks to our treasurer Renee Vanselow-Tapp (AuntieNae) for her help as all the orders start to pile up.
A huge thanks to Jeremy for setting up the WGA store to take all the orders.
And thanks to BakRdz for the beautiful winning coin design.
And finally thanks to those WGA members who started talking and writing about producing another WGA geocoin to help get this project going. A Wisconsin shaped gold coin. Hopefully we got it right. 😉
Now buy em’ up everyone!!

The store just accepted an order from me.
I am wording the announcement as I type this…

Not necessarily any “tricks” but it appears to be using some “scripting” to hide / show certain blocks of HTML. I’ve sent the users an email asking how he did it. It definately appears to be generated code, so I’m assuming there’s a piece of software out there that generates this. I’ll post more if / when I hear back.
I believe one of the GSAK stats macros builds HTML that divides the stats up by “tab”. Not sure what exactly because I don’t use this.

Guess I should have used the word “imply” instead of “say”. Interesting how a nerve was struck though…
No nerve struck, I just wanted to clarify that I was not implying low quality.
Thanks for the contrasting viewpoints.
