Bullhead point is a nice spot and we loved visiting. I can’t see myself maintaining a cache there though. 🙁

When I was in Pennsylvania, I noticed the popular term there was cache and dash (or c&d) vs park and grab.

Had to look this up… (great forum post!)

GCR7BR – Georgia Silver Cache Stash # 8 – In Georgia not in Wisconsin. 🙂

    My log…
My First find! Received a GPSr & FAQ printout from geocaching.com as a birthday gift 3 days ago. This cache is 736.5 miles from my home! Traveling on business.
TFT(1st)H Took a bead, plenty left. No Sgt Eldridge though 🙁 Ready for my next! — already hooked -cheeto-

    From the description:
Please take only one bead per GPSr, (not as a trade item) and don’t leave anything else in the cache.

If you found the whole series you could make a bracelet out of SILVER beads — wire included. Never seen anything like that since!

Looks like the last bead was taken in January of 08. Cache archived February of 11.

In my opinion, they made a mistake by approving the McDonald’s, Wal-Mart, and Subway categories. Isn’t that what the store locators on their respective sites are for?

    Or foursquare…

I am the mayor of the water cooler!

And I so totally kicked butt last week. Yay me! My life now has meaning!

As much meaning as a geocaching find count.

I think it’s in the job description that the WGA president has to visit every cache that has been logged in the state to verify that there is an actual signature on the log sheet. I know that that part of the job really wore Labrat out!

That’s why I never took up the job…

From the listing guidelines on geocaching.com:

5.Geocache Permanence: Geocaches are placed for the long term. Geocachers will expect your cache to remain in place for a realistic and extended period of time. Therefore, caches that have the goal to move (“traveling caches”), or temporary caches (caches hidden for less than 3 months or for events) will not be published.

    Also from the guidelines:

Geocache must be in place before you enable the listing. Your cache should be in place and ready to hunt at the time your cache page is enabled online. If the cache is not ready, either disable your cache page so that it won’t be listed in the review queue or post a “Note to Reviewer” explaining special circumstances such as awaiting permission from a land manager.

Would like to have the ‘high-res’ ability on a multi-cache view……so I can clearly see and pre-plan shortcuts through people’s backyards when I plan my caching routes, or something like that. Seriously, for example, doing the Kiel Marsh series, I’d like to have hi-res over all 10 caches on a single screen, that I can just pan and zoom seamlessly. As it is now, to look at all 10 close-up, the res is lo, and the tiles keep prairie doggin’.

Isn’t part of the fun of geocaching that you don’t know where you’re going or where the hunt is leading you too?

Congratulations to all those newly elected or re-elected, and thank you to all board members for your service to the Wisconsin geocaching community.

You’re welcome. I’m glad to have served!

Congrats to the top vote getters! Have fun with it and do great things in 2012.

If I am asked to TAKE CHARGE of a WGA Event, I will decline. It means I’m expected to do almost everything. That deos not fit the definition of a BOD, in my opinion.

I’ve seen some events work very well with committee involvement and many volunteers. I’ve seen others fail miserably and need the bod to stay afloat.

We’re getting better at committees, I’ll give you that much.

If people say they are going to help and don’t show up, who will help make the event a success? Will each of you take it upon yourself and step up? Will you take responsibility or let someone else?

    Thanks for listening…
