Reminder: This Saturday is the Appleton WGA Regional CITO! (GC24H1Z)
Rain or Shine we will be out there cleaning the parks. Come join us if your nearby or can make it.
I read on the groundspeak forums that the survey was sent based on your email preferences on your geocaching.com account.
I would say if you had this setting set:
– Do not inform me of helpful tips, new features and changes to the web site. Then you did not receive the survey.
And they commented that if you change the setting now it’s too late.
I think it’s pretty cool that they are inquiring with their paying customers to find out what they want.
Congrats on the milestone Curly Girls!
There will be a front page news item soon to grab everyone’s attention.
Just to clarify, any posts made on this thread are not a ‘reservation’ to purchase. However, we do recognize those that have expressed interest and those that are looking for an option to purchase without attending a WGA event and the committee is still discussing and researching options to make that happen.
FYI – There is additional design information for some of the submissions provided by the designer posted in the official design submission thread:

The Referendum to vote for your favorite design is now available!
http://wi-geocaching.com/modules.php?name=Referendums
The voting period will be open until 11:59pm on May 4th.
These design concepts were submitted by WGA members and friends over the past 2 months.
** When voting, keep in mind that most of these are concepts, not finished art. Vote for the concept you like best.
The 2010 Geocoin Committee will work with the chosen coin vendor to finalize the winning design concept for minting.
There’s still a final (sort of)
GC1VN3R
An official voting process will be launched soon for selecting the winning design.
Congrats on the milestone!!
I found that the advanced macro found here is more useful.
Once you get the feeling for the process and macro sweetlife posted, if you’re interested I’ve found this macro:
http://sites.google.com/site/jjreds012/download
to be much better. Why is it better? Because it organizes your caches into types within databases on the unit. So if you have multiple databases in GSAK like “near home” and “near work” or whatever, those are categorized and within that it automatically categorizes into types: traditional, multi, etc.
It also offers full support for alerting you when a cache is nearby and you can set how close is “nearby” and how loud the tone is for alerting. For certain models, this is the only way to get the alert to work.
Good luck and enjoy the nuvi 🙂
Some photos of the Adopt a Hwy CITO event can be found here:
