Researching mudpuppies I have determined that’s what I saw go by. Interesting. Never seen one before… And I’ve seen just about every kind of fish around here in my 30 + years of fishing local waters.sd

And what I saw was more like a salamander than a crayfish/lobster…

man if I had only hit the printscreen button… I am sure there are a lot of people thinking and saying that while watching that webcam. 🙂

I swear I saw a reptilian fish looking thing CRAWL from right to left. Walked on all 4’s across the bottom. Had a tail that was rounded. Not sure on the camera magnification but it was probably at least 8 – 12 inches long maybe even a bit bigger.

    Thoughts?

(I am not joking this time…)

Well team-black-cat and his pet whipped my butt. My guy had to finish off the pet first for some reason.

    lonegunman flattened me as well.

so then I went and beat up sweech again….

    lol

definitely a wolf-lobster. rare. only lives in the swift moving currents of the wolf river. only 2 have ever been found in the wild. never been caught on camera. Did you screen capture it for science?

I just submitted 2 new “ALS” (Additional Logging Suggestion) caches for review. Much more fun than ALR. ALR is sooo 2008. ALS is the ALR for 2009. 🙂

What a sweet idea for a “challenge” cache!

I love reading those strange/weird book series. There’s also the “Haunted” books as well…

The only reason I required the GPS to be in the photo or you to be in the phote, etc was to prove you took the picture. It would be too easy to go out and find a picture on the internet. That was the idea when it was a “requirement” anyway. I did not remove that piece because it still shows that you took the picture even if it is now optional.

Having a GPS in the picture means it’s geocaching related right? 😉

This was the only “ALR” I ever put together. The logging requirement was really to add more to the “kid friendly” aspect of that particular cache which was more important to me than the fact that it was an ALR type cache. I tried to think of something fun that kids would like doing in addition to geocaching. What kid doesn’t like catching bugs? Even my 2 girls like it as long as that bug isn’t a spider or a bee 😀

That’s a good point Zuma. It’s been part of the many pages of discussion on the geocaching forum.

I did not think of that when I changed my only ALR cache to traditional which has already been done. But my change only impacted 2 people. It seems only 2 people wanted to catch and take a picture of a bug (GC1KNVD) since the beginning of January 🙂

Something to think about for those looking to change larger volumes that have more finds on them…

in reply to: new logo for cache pages #1905290

I am waiting for our web site administrator to change the existing image to the new logo rather than go through all 50 or so of my active caches and update the coding to grab a different image. Would be great if that would happen rather than seeing everyone updating their cache pages..

My initial post that started this thread spelled out the acronym ALR… I guess I could have explained what they were better for the masses. My bad..
