Not that I use the INATNS sit much. but with GC.com stepping up to the plate, I WILL continue my paid membership. That’s a mighty fine thing they did there.

Groundspeak has recently changed its policy regarding cache adoptions. One person has already gotten caught by this, so I thought it would be a good idea to post here, so that everyone knows what is going on.
First, Groundspeak will no longer process “forced” adoptions except in very unusual circumstances. They haven’t really delineated what constitutes unusual, but assume that we will not be able to allow you to adopt someone’s cache without permission. We can still try, but it is not likely to be approved. The only specific exception discussed involves the death of a cacher with permission of the family.
Second, we have been instructed NOT to unarchive caches to allow someone else to adopt them, even with permission. If you want someone to adopt your listings, I would suggest you post to the forums here to ask for volunteers. We can still unarchive if you archive by mistake, change your mind, etc., but not specifically for the purpose of adoption.
Of course, you can still do your own adoptions when both sides are agreeable at http://www.geocaching.com/adopt.
Thanks for the info.
I can not get the link to work thou and FYI, unless you do a search for it,there is no links on GC.com to the adoption page. I gt one of little Otters caches adopted that I was foster caring for and had a heck of a time finding the page.

My family and I are avid campers, but the cost of gas has me very concerned about pulling the pop up all around the Badger State, so as an alternative I’m taking up this crazy addicitive hobby. Not having to pull the camper while still having fun will be a pretty nice alternative.
LOL! You must new to the sport. You just might want to reconsider pulling the pop up. You might save gas.
Yup. Failed too!
Well, with Passing Wind moving to Northern Wi, there is already some new ones in upper Wi and Min. I think he has a few more planned.
Go to Garmin dot com. There should be a link. Once you find the phone # , you might have to call a few time before you get to talk to someone, but they’ll you what they will do, but I’m willing to bet they’ll send you a new unit.
I would call the Garmin Customer Service. They will probably have you send it in and they will send you a new on. I sort of had the same problem as mine would total signal. Called them sent, sent it out on a Monday and had a new one Friday.
I think they are still allowed, ya just can’t force/require them to make another cache to make the log. Somewhere here I asked the same thing and got an answer.
I noticed that too when working on mine this morning.

I started with the old blue Etrex Legend with the color screen. It served me well even after I beat the hell of of it. For my birthday my parents bought me Garmin Map60CSx. The map60 works great. Old Blue…not so much 😳 😥 I normally carry my gps around my neck. I was out one day and after a good hike back to the truck I started taking of the layers. I, like and idiot, put the unit on the top of my truck and hurriedly got the geomutts loaded up. I got about a mile or so down the road when I noticed that the unit was not on the dash as that where U usually put it. 😯 😯 😯 NUTZ!!! I turn around and find the unit about a half a mile back on the opposite side of the road. I stop, pick it up. The screen covers is laying next to it but doesn’t look too bad. I try to turn it on, nothing. I shook it and all I hear is a big rattle. A pulp Truck got the best of it! 😥 Sorry! back to the subject at hand.
While I love my Map 60, I would have no problems going back to a Legend. IF you look around, they are about 1/2 the price of a map60.
I noticed tonight that the local Wally World the Legend with color screen for around $250,Legend with no color was $200 and the New yellow Etrex for $99.
I too have turned the compass off on my Map 60.

I am still using a Legend C, and I like it a lot. c My legend C has a lot of miles on it, is scratched all to heck and is scuffed, but it still works great.
……….. when the one I got works fine.
zuma
When you can find it right!?!?!?!??? 😛 😉 😆 😆 8) 😉 😛
I started with an Old Blue Etrex and got a Map60Csx last August for my birthday.
While I was out searching for the next leg of the Great Zuma Adventure, it seemed that that the great yellow orb indeed was following me. I hope that the great yellow orb will continue to show itself the rest of my vacation.
