Something else we EC Masters can always consider….why not just create a site away from the WGA? We could do that too. Not as handy, but a possibility. One I had thought of in the past, to do on my own.
The statements made above are that of “personal opinion” and NOT that as of a Board member or that of the WGA Board itself
What good would that do people who are new to the WGA,geocaching, or earth caches? Why can’t ALL the information and discussion be here at one site?
I for one have not done am earth cache in any aspect. I have a few ideas for a few. I think it would be a heck of a lot easier to ask the pros
HERE for input and information. And I’m sure I’m taking this out of context but if your not an EC Master you don’t count? That’s why I hate rankings and numbers and titles.
UMMMMMM…Why? DOes the WGA HAVE to be ALL about what GC.com???? I myself have a few Location less Caches listed on Terracaching.com and do have a regular listed terracache that’s been found only twice.
So what you are saying that if a board member does not do any of the above items or doesn’t know of anyone else that does things, it can’t be discussed here? Cuz that’s how I read that statement.
The start of a new Era has begun…..
Well, we run IE 7 and every time I try to load the map it locks up. Oh well.
I can’t get the map to work.
It’s a private group. I have posted the link here and also to a semi-private hunting forum site I belong to and a few email invites.
I’ll give it a third!. Great idea!
I was thinking like sub-topics in the off topic section.
I don’t want to start a cook book, that is just an idea as to what to call the forum.
I just like to cook. Marc, why are you always anti everything? The U.P. is a great place. My great- grandfather started a our family cabin just out of Eagle Harbor in the Keewenaw more than 80 years ago.
I just haven’t had the chance to get back up that way since I discover geocaching. There are caches at a lot of my favorite places up there.@Team Hemisphere Dancer wrote:

OK–now who is responsible for giving permission to hide caches at boat launches (those in places that don’t have obvious contact persons, like DNR land, parks, and municipalities do)? Some of those are just along a river or lake, some without detailed signs.
And are all those dead-end or roadside cache locations managed by townships or counties or anyone?
Boat launches can be any municipality. State, county, town, city and sometimes Feds. The best thing to do is to find a county plat book. YOur local DNR office is also a good place to ask as they have maps of all sorts.
I do not know if all county courthouse have then nut i do know Sawyer and Wasburn counties have wall size maps of the county plat books.Well, for the most part, I think they are just working on getting caches approved along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Which would be the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers. I have a couple caches placed on non-NPS property and ELfdoctors also has one placement. If this ever gets approved, there could be one hell of a canoe cache run!
I have the Map60csx. I have the old version the Mapsource Topo program. For the most part, if you are in the sticks geocaching the program works fine. The Auto route however does not. It was explained to me somewhere that the Topo program is not set up for autorouting.
Some of the fire lane names are wrong but it does show most trails.
I paid $399 for my unit last August. Bought the whole topo program the year before for $100. -
