Ya know, it’s simply amazing all the new caches in my neck of the woods that are available. Ohhhh, did someone say ” Winter Friendly??” Yeahhhh – if just placed…!!!” Oh, the happy dance!

Accordiongal and I went caching in Redwing today, and met up with other frustrated (DNF’S) cachers at the lack of winter friendly caches.

Hat’s off to Trekkin’and Birdin’ and lagrac for heading out with shovel in hand for the caching they have done. We poked and prodded, and dug and said we will come back in the spring. that was the family friendly version!

    Doc.
There are a bunch of winter friendly caches up this way. A couple are even easier in the winter. There just could be some new ones in the near future…..SHssshhhhhh! Don’t tell Zuma!

Ya mean if something like this were to happen?

I do not know too much info. All the email said was the pics were taken by a guy in Spooner, WI and that the cat was watching his kids play on the floor. And just to think that one of these cats has been seen just down the road from me! 😯

Congratulations to all. All but myself deserved to be on the BOD. I just hope that everyone will still give all your opinions and thoughts to help continue to make the WGA an organization that represents ALL the geocachers in this Great State of Wisconsin. I will continue to help out the WGA whenever I can. Thanks to all those 29 votes too! That’s 29 more than I thought I’d receive! And thanks to all the members that took time to vote.

    Patience……………….

The difference between getting a board position or not is only one vote this year, so we have to take a bit of extra time to double check that all the votes are legitimate before certification can occur.

An announcement will be coming soon.

LOL…hum I wonder if I should have voted for myself?

Don’t worry. I didn’t vote for myself either, but did cast a vote your way.

Hey, I was online in the WGA site last night when my internet connection kicked me out, so I just shut down for the night. I hadn’t had the chance to log out.

Now, tonight when I went online, I visited a few other sites before coming to the WGA (I know–it should be my home page), and I appeared as being an online user without even logging in.

Did “sandlanders” show up as being on the WGA site all that time, like 24 hours? Or was it just when I re-entered the WGA? I don’t want people thinking I’m a 24-hours-a-day WGA forum junkie!

Um Jeremey step in here is I don’t have this right but it cuz of cookies, bits of info that your computer stores. If you do not log off or clean your cookies, you should be able to get on the site with out logging on all the time.

Here is an easy way also. What kind of GPS unit do you have. Both my Etrex and Map60 have a Proximity function. Just pick a location, whether it be another cache or whatever, set the proximity alarm for .10 and it shows a a red circle that is with in 525 feet from the location. But if memory servers me right, brothers follow brothers so I’m saying it’s not a Garmin. Magellan? 😕

in reply to: Garmin -> Computer? #1884289

Jim, what program do you use now to download your data? If you have Mapsource or EASY GPS you will be able to up load all your info from your unit and easily save it in a file. I guess the big question is do you have a patch cord?

in reply to: Garmin -> Computer? #1884286

It was the blue legend blue Etrex. A friend I work with has one and I was able to down load the State of Montana to it as that is where they go elk hunting..

in reply to: Garmin -> Computer? #1884284

What ever program you are using to down load should also allow you do upload from your GPS. On a side note, you might want to check Wal-mart in your area as the local one here marked down their old Etrex’s to $79. Instead of fixing the one you have, maybe put the money toward a new unit? Heck, Talk to the store manager, explain you are teaching kids and they might even donate you one!

I’m not sure the reason you ask, but there is a park In Rice Lake that has some and a pretty good bet there are no caches near them since there a just but a few caches in Rice Lake. I’ll try to fond the link again.
