Groundspeak must be doing some maintenance today. I can’t even log in.
Oh, you can’t go to your account page from WAP. It’s just the basics.
TODAY????? It’s been since about 4pm last night!!
Here is a link that can help …..maybe….http://wap.geocaching.com/ Though I still haven’t figured out how to get to my account page.
Due to the lack of interest? No, I think it was done so to force people to by memberships. It was one way to find out new caches. I used them a lot.
There use to be a map on the WGA site that came from GC.com that showed all the caches in the state. But when GC.com switched maps, that one went bye bye 😥 . I looked at it often.
I have came across a bear a couple of times while in the woods nut wasn’t geocaching. Each time I was with my dogs and about a mile or 2 from my truck. Each time the bear ran in the other direction. And I retreated in the other direction even though I need to go the direction the bear went to get back to my truck. Normally, the bears won’t stick around cuz they do not want anything to do with ya. Would it pay to carry a bottle of pepper spray…….well. it nice to have it if ya need it. Somewhere there was a post and somebody said that they carried 2 pistols. Not that I am saying that is an option either. I would say just use common sense……but you now geocache, so that proves you are like the rest of us and don’t have MUCH! 😯 😕 😆 😛 🙄 😉 😉
Hey! Very COOL! 8) 8) 8)

This is what it said on the first post in this topic:
Something also to note — waysides are not under the jurisdiction of the DOT. They are fair game for geocache placement.
THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!!! Most are DOT. They maybe maintained by someone else, like contracted out, but they are STILL DOT PROPERTIES unless a different municipalities has taken them over. Such is one near where I live. The local township took it over and is now a town park.
You need to check what wayside is and is not DOT.

From the WIS DOT WEB page
Our waysides are more rustic in nature and feature parking, toilet facilities, drinking water and picnic areas on a smaller scale. Many waysides are located in scenic locations for your enjoyment. Waysides are generally open from early May through late October.
An entire team of people work cooperatively behind the scenes to keep our rest areas and waysides clean, safe and in good working order. Local Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRP) provide the day-to-day maintenance at each rest area and some waysides. The CRP’s provide employment for people with disabilities who might otherwise have limited employment opportunities. Rehabilitation For Wisconsin (RFW), a private non-profit organization, is responsible for direction of the CRP’s at each rest area. Counties are responsible for snow plowing at rest areas and waysides and the maintenance of some waysides. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Highway Operations is responsible for overseeing the state-wide rest area and wayside operation.
Our rest areas and some waysides feature recycling areas for your convenience. Please use the trash containers and recycling bins and help keep Wisconsin’s rest areas and waysides clean. We hope that you enjoy your visit. Here is one for Old Faithful

Ummmmmm…….that be a cover. I don’t see no hole. Just a cover.
I’m not sure how it works, but do not forget the items for sale at the store. New logo means new screens and there is a cost for that too.
DEER!!!! 😯 I haven’t seen a deer in 3 years!!!
I speak the truth! There is a mountain lion roaming around my back yard…well a 1/2 a mile or so from my back yard. It has been spotted a few times in the almost the same location. Last spring, at dusk as I walk my dog along the back 40, something long and sleek crossed in front of us twice. And there was pictures from a trail cam in Wisconsin Outdoor Weekly that came form the Drummond area. Them cats are around!
HUH? and Huh? 😕
Ummm….. What’s a Cracker Barrel Cache and who is ….oh wait.. just figured out who. 🙄
