Somewhere, in storage, I have my trombone. I think I still know how to play the “GO BIG RED” song.

I bought mine from Cabelas (Outfitter Pro Series) a few years ago and love them. They’re actually made by Atlas and private labeled for Cablelas. I bought the “package” which was shoes, poles, and carry bag. Definately lightweight and I’ve walked a variety of terrain (woods, open fields, packed trails, marshes, etc.) with them. Here’s a link to Cabela’s site.

I have these same shoes. They have really good float. I’d recommend them for larger hikers (>180 lbs).

Wife got me a pair a few years ago for a X-mas present. Work great for me and I think I’m built like you but a tad lighter perhaps.

    Workin great for me too!

Ummm… I do believe that there are 2 in Hayward. But they might not be that big now that I think of it. But they are BIG.

Ok, lets put into prospective, and if I’m wrong, please feel free to correct me.
I know this is a apples to oranges type of thing but it’s really red apple an green apples.

How many computers in the world runs a version of Windows software?
I use to work for a small town cooperative, but had nine different departments. I do bit know how many total computers we had that ran Windows, but the company HAD to pay a fee for the use of program. Hundreds of dollars
I now work for a convenience store chain that has over 350+ corporate stores and another 150+ franchise stores. Every few months, we get emails from the home office telling us that some sort of “Update” is need and to “Comply with our licensees, we have to be make sure that the “Updates” complete or we will lose the licensees. I asked my DM about it one time and he said the cost is thousands and thousand of dollars.

From what I have read, Google is now charging companies that use their product “X” amount of times a fee. Somewhere I saw that geocaching maps a viewed 3,000,000 times a day! In turn it would have cost Geocaching.com millions of dollars a day to use the Google Maps.
Are you all of a sudden willing to pay $100-$500 annual Premium
Fees to use a map program?? Cuz the GC.coms cost would have been passed down to us. GC.com is doing the best they can with what they go to work with.
Again, that is how I believe it works, or something close to it. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

I’ve snagged a spot on the NE WI version, but all 3 so far seem more like single elimination tournaments vs. “Survivor”.

    Where’s the immunity?
    Where’s the team concept?
    Where’s the challenges?

Is the tagline for Survivor – Outwit, Outplay, Outlast?

It sounds like these are primarily only addressing the “Outlast”.

I’m certainly curious to see how these play out which is why I tried to snag me a spot. I definately have some ideas for future modified versions.

Ummm to kinda Quote you CJ, His game, His Rules. 😉

I can’t seem to transfer waypoints to or from my 62st using Map Source, I have to use Base Camp, and I don’t like it much, but I may still need to use it more to learn it, but I can do things faster on Map Source. I should say that I can get some, but not all, and that includes tracks. Do you have any intel you could share?

But we cheeseheads are still gonna keep voting for Rick because they are our Packers. Well, except for Sandlanders and Big Jim 😛 They are only voting to support a fellow geocacher 😛

Believe me, we wouldn’t be voting for Rick if he were just any geocacher. He’s a geocacher who is a diehard fan with a great bio and backstory to go with his personae and nomination. Who better to represent all of the Packers fans who love the team as much as he does?

And if BigJim and I were really nasty, we’d be voting for that “other” guy just so that it would tick everyone off if he were to win. 😈 But we’re not that way because we are kind, sweet, forgiving Bears fans who can overlook our team differences to be nice to our green-and-gold friends. 🙄 😉

Two more votes for the Mayor from two sandlanders just now. 😀 😀 😀 😀

Yeah, what Pat says. Plus, even though I am not, never have been, and never will be a fan of the Green Bay Packers, I am a resident of Wisconsin. I just think that it is wrong for someone from Pennsylvania who has only been a fan for 10 years to even be considered for the HoF.

Just remember Todd, just like you and I, they are die-hard fans of their team through and through. They are not voting for Rick cuz he a geocacher, They are voting for Rick because he is a Packer fan an because he shares that love for the Green & Gold with everyone. I will never disrespect anyone for choosing who they root for, I may give them grief for it, but I will not disrespect them for it. A gal I use to work was Viking fan for years and years. She had all the Viking gear and stuff. Well , a few years before Farve and Holmgren won the Super Bowl, she became a Packer fan and tothis day she still say she a Packer Fan. I tell her you maybe today, but you are not a die-hard , bleed green & gold and stuck with them through the lean times fan.

What’s really bad is when you forget where you put that recent purchase of Geo- paraphernalia to hide from the non geocaching spouse an you check all the “secret” spots and it’s not there. Did she find it and throw it away? Did she find it and plans on using it against me at a later date??? I know I have 2 or 3 bags of unopened packs of small logs bags from Wally World floating around somewhere….
