I have a pair of Atlas snowshoes and love them. Very easy on and off. I asked for a pair of polls for X-mas. There are plenty of hunter walking trails around here to choose from. I’m working on a snowshoe cache series. You don’t need to have snowshoes, but they would help!

Did you read it in your Yoda voice?

I think it is on a t shirt.

    Why yes….yes I did.

in reply to: Garmin Customer Service #1879694

I was having problems with my map 60CSX losing satellite signal while I was out in the field. Just go blank. Called customer service told them the problem. The guy said “Huh!?!? Send it in and we’ll look at it.” Well I was a tad nervous about sending it in so I continued to use it and it still had problems. So, I sent it in last Friday, they received it on Monday and had a spankin’ brand new unit show up from the UPS guy in my hands when I got home from work tonight. They never said anything about warranty or anything. That sold me. I’ll use a Garmin forever. Do ya think that if I send in Old Blue after is bounce down the highway and run over by a semi that they’ll replace that one too?

So it may not be on par with a lot of the achievements I have read on here but for me it is outstanding…

    I found my first cache!!

This was a cache I spent a few days looking for (I only had an hour each day at lunch to look) and today was the lucky day! When I was digging in the snow and caught a glimpse of green metal my heart started pounding and my hands shook. Luckily I was in the middle of the woods because I think I actually yelled out “Holy %&$# I found it!” It was simply amazing. What a rush! I hardly remember the walk back.

So my question is…was it like this for all of you the first time, or am I just a little freaky?

    🙂

LOL!!! 😆 😆 Yup! That’s about it. Now you are DOOMED!! 😯 😯 It will slowly take over your brain. Just wait till you get your 1st First to Find! Congrats on your first find!! Hope you get many more. You have more than enough up there to keep you goiing for a very , very long time.

So when does this start? Or has it started? You need to add my cache Here Fishy Fishy to the list. It’s up and running now I think someone is going to make a run up north soon. There were also about 6-10 others that were not on the list too that I came across.

I’ve got myself a problem with GSAk too, but it has nothing to do with paperless caching. I’ve appealed to everyone I can think of (Justin, GC forums, and Iowa forums). I want to run the macro thing to make my stats in my GC profile look really fancy and detailed like Bandits…. but I can’t figure it out. I have zero patients, so if it doesn’t work the first time, I get really frustrated. Help??

p.s. I’ve already heard the ‘go to GSAK forums and do what they say’ thing. Isn’t there a ‘Macro’s for Dummies’ out there?

What the heck is Macros anyhow? What’s it do? Besides confuse the heck of of me.

Is there a prize for having the lowest points? 😀

Cheezehead is in also. Ya, is there a prize for the lowest points? There ‘s not too many lonely caches around me, but there is one of mine and one I adopted. How would that play out?

You can’t get credit for your own caches, but there are 12 caches on the list within 30 miles of Hayward, and only two are yours (Apostle Island and the Hayward Cheesehead and the 52 Pickup you adopted).

I think that there are more than that just from doing a fast looksy at the dates. I’ll do some more research tomorrow

Ok, I have GSAK, but do not have a clue how to use it! And I just updated to a premium membership so now I should be able to use pocket queries..right? Not that I know what to do with them either!! 😕 😕 😯 🙄 🙄

Wooo Hooo!!! Another cacher from UP NORT! on the boards!!

Welcome Sunski. I haven’t had the chance to hit many of the caches up that way yet but someday soon! I have to admit, I had to look at the ol’ Gazetteer to find South Range.
