What unit software are you running? The most current is 3.50/chipset 2.90. you can check your version of unit software here: main menu, setup, system, hit menu and select software version.
I am running both of those. I just realized that maybe there just was not too many satellites at that time. I have my unit on now and it’s picking up 10 satellites. Where this afternoon it was only picking up like 3 and then went blank. But as of right now, in the house it is still picking up 9. Not strong but it’s got them. I dunno. Maybe just a fluke thing.

The cache police are actually powerless, and there is no geo-jail. 😀
OH no! I’m sure there is some hidden CIA/FBI/NSA secret Geo-jail in like Finland or somewhere like that! 😆 😆 8) 8) 😯 😯 🙄 😉 😉
So yes, no, maybe? He get lost? 🙂
Well, that’s what the little deer in the attributes section is for. Uh here most public land is hunting land. Weather it’s county, State or Federal.
One should always wear some sort of orange as in early fall it Grouse season, and bow season. As a hunter, I wear a blaze orange hat when I’m in the woods in the fall. There are chunk of land where I can come from one direction and there could a fellow hunter that parked somewhere else. During the 9 day gun deer season, I wouldn’t even recommend going n the woods around here. Just not worth it.Hey! Congrats!!
Hey! Very cool! These pages will come in very handy! Thanks!

I always laugh when reading about these meth labs located in the woods, Most are located on secluded properties/farms or even your neighbors house.
Since all geocaching should be done on Public land I doubt you have anything to worry about. Most of the time if you find a mess in the woods it’s probably just a homeless camp. This doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t know what to look for, but all should realize this isn’t something you really need to worry about. Your more likely to stumble onto a marijuana grow or people smoking weed than finding a meth lab.
That is not true. Do you have any idea how much public land there is up here that have old hunting shacks and such on it? There have been some labs found in the Chequamegon National Forest awhile back in I think Price or Ashland county. They are out there.

Here is my opinion, ALL MICROS LEAK!
Nano, Bison, Film Can, Doesn’t Matter, They Leak.
Here is a idea, recycle all those small plastic containers, and go out and place a ammo box
Geocaching the northwoods 😀 where ammo boxes out number the micro
Barry and Valarie of Sweetlife
Well, I guess that depends which part of the northwoods you are visiting. I visited the Spooner area Saturday, and it was about half film cans.
I do agree though, the good old fashioned ammo can in the woods is still the gold standard.

I’d say for the most part, most caches up here are not film canisters. There area only just a few in the the “greater Hayward Area” and those are just because of the location of the hide. Most caches are ammo cans, plastic jugs or PVC pipe. Thou I do have set of 9 “micro type” placed. Just working on the web pages. May wait till spring now to submit them.

I have about a zillion pill bottles from the meds I have to take. I have used a few in some multis to hold cords. They have the tops that flip over to be so called “child proof” or just regular screw on. If you were to go ask your local druggist, I bet you can get them in an assortment of sizes at about 50 cents a crack or so. I got a couple that were about 3×1.
I cut a memo book down to about 1″ strips and they worked great. Thanks all! It took me awhile, but I got there. Too dang busy with other things….like work! 🙄 Keep your eyes open for a possible weenie roast sometime in April 2008. As for FFL I hate BYES!!! Why do they need my GC.com password????
To verify your account??? They asked for it also when they did the TB’s.
I think they also asked for it if you signed up for the Jeep TB’s but I’m not sure.@Trekkin’ and Birdin’ wrote:

I saw it posted on the GC forums that they were gonna be doing some work on their site also, so it was going to be on off too.
