You really wonder who thinks up some of these laws. Do they really think it is safer to drive around with the GPS on the seat, looking away from the road to read it? How about holding it in one hand while you drive, especially with a manual transmission (my personal technique)? Of course, the people of Minnesota and California elected these nitwits, so I guess they are getting what they deserve.
I think that’s the law here in WI too! That would include fuzz busters and the such. I know I got a warning for a dealer plate holder that was on my car. There is to be nothing covering up anything on a plate.
Ummmmm I think ya all is NUTZ!!!!! 🙄 😉 😆 😯 😆 😉 8) 8) …….Oh that’t right! Your all Geocahcers and all Non-Geocachers think we’re NUTZ!!! 😆 8)
I picked one uo this weekend and see that there is another one up near Superior. Is there anyway to set up a search just for Jeep TB in a zip code area or anything like that? The jeep I picked up is the first one I have ever seen. There is one yellow one posted in a cahce but seems to have gome missing.
I just want to say I’m sorry for what I had posted in the other post. I have deleted it. I was not to read the way it read. They where just basic concerns and question. I am new to this crazy sport and do not know all things from the past. So I am sorry to have caused a ruckus.
As of this time I have not had the chance to do much hunting outside of my area. I have put out 2 caches which I thought where new and unique places. I have been searching for about 2 months looking for new cache spots and am in the position to put out 2 new series. It is not my goal to make COM. I just want folks to be able to get out enjoy this area.
Some of the spots are easy, some of the spots you might have to do a 1/2 mile walk to get. I just enjoy doing this.
In Sawyer County there are to series, “I Caught a Whopper in Hayward & Color My World.” These where the first caches I hit and got me hooked.
In this area,I do not know for sure but there has to be about 25-40 caches. I am trying to add to this and mack them fun. I know once the snow starts flying caching will probably slow down a bit.
A few months ago we had an impromptu meet and greet of local catchers and was surprised to find out who all did this sport.
In the future I would love to hold an even up north. I talk to a teacher at the local school about maybe doing some sort of event. Through a grant, they were able to buy about 24 GPSr.
So we’ll see.
Thanks to all who are working on getting things set up “UP NORTH”.
Please let me know if there is anything I can help add or do.
Cheeze.

I am in the proceess of submitting 12 new caches. Can I use this logo for the bottom of the page?
I should have them all typed up and ready by next week.
And just oyt of curiosity, what would it look like in red? Red as in Wisconsin Badger red. Red and White our state colors… kind of aren’t they?
WOW! I was just asking for permission to use the logo. I wasn’t looking for the rest of the crap. I thought i was having fun caching until I started to read that other stuff. I guess I now need to be in a foul mood too.

Ok…I’m gonna have to play dumb..something I’m good at. What are we talking about as “companion??
I just got the Garmin MapSource program. It works great and does the trick. There is a free program called USA Photomaps that was made by a retired airline pilot JD Cox. He has a web site and the program is free.
It works of of Terra Server arial photos and Topo maps. You can also transfer routes to Google Earth, but I have not played with that program yet.
I guess I would do either the $25 or $50 if it was a one time deal. I like the idea and concept. And to get a coin to boot, heck of a deal! 😀
Log it. I ya found it, ya found it.Sometimes with the clues given you can figure it out with out even looking for it. There was one up here in a spot that I had scouted for putting a cache. A week later, some else placed a cache at this location. I knew exactly where it was cuz there was no other place to hid a container.
I am not addicted… 😳 😯 I do not have a problem…. 😕 😯 Just cuz I kept checking back EVERY 5 mins….doesn’t mean nothing…I am fine…… 😯
Thanks for to everyone for all the work you put in.
Ummmm. I’m not getting anything either……
Well Dan, if you have soooo much problems with all this, Then why not just stop Geocaching all together?? That way you blood pressure wont go up.
I had a very nice talk with the Local DNR Rep/Land manager.
He said it State land, it’s open to all that want to hike, hunt, fish, whatever. He said that he looked at the site(GC.com I would think) and said he notice that there were many around. He had talk to others in the office and no one seemed to mind. Even said if I was to put a cache out on one of the State owned island on the Chippewa Flowage that I would have to submit the form to a different person, but should be OK.
So up here in the “Sticks” of Sawyer County, the DNR had no problems with Geocaching and told me to have FUN!!
So there ya have it!
I also have tried to make contact with the local manager here. I just want to get his feelings before getting a cache ready. I have a couple spots in mind. I will post the results as soon as I hear.
