they should only count regular caches in peoples totals. all else is just fun side notes to actual goecaching.
So what you’re saying is that when I hunt a 12 stage multi over a 4.5 mile course that could have been 12 individual caches it shouldn’t count towards my smiley? I totally disagree.
So what you’re saying is that if I spend 20+ hours solving a very interesting and challenging puzzle that teaches me lots of cool things and I get a set of actual coordinates at the end and go find the cache that just happens to be in the middle of a swamp that it shouldn’t count towards my smiley? I totally disagree.
If there’s a container and you find it and sign the log it should count.
You might be able to persuade me with events, virtuals, earthcaches, challenges, etc. but if I find a container and sign the log I don’t really see what the difference is compared to just a plain traditional.
DITTO to what CJ said! A CACHE is a container WITH a LOG.
Talk to the :heidy: cuz it wasn’t me!
I got a log recently, by a new cacher that was mad that the cache coords were off 10 feet and that they had to leave the parking lot to find it.

It’s been an auto draft, it;s gonna stay an auto draft.
It’s been auto draft from the get go starting 5 years ago. I work nights and weekends..so. the draft would be at midnight.

On page 10 of the groundspeak forum thread regarding challenges I came across an interesting counter-argument to those who don’t want these “counting” towards their find counts.
The prior virtuals, events, mega events, CITO events, webcams, GPS adventure exhibits, (and I would add Earth Caches) are also not geocaches (i.e. not containers hidden at coordinates to be found with a GPS and a log signed). Why should they count and these new ‘challenges’ should not?Just an interesting perspective thrown in the mix.
They’re obviously not ideally developed but there’s some potential to testing out the “peer review model” behind these.
They really should be “owned” and have attributes, additional waypoints, hints, etc like a “real cache page”.
I have to agree, and have always thought that too.
The dates also appear in “Your Profile” logs.
NOT to open a WHOLE nother can of worms,
But, in MY OPINION A geocache find is signing a log for cache that HAS a GC# Events, EC , BM and such in MY opinion, should not count towards one’s total, But that is how I play the game. Other’s may play different. That’s their choice, who am I to tell anyone that they are playing the game wrong. No one listens to me anyhow.Jeremy Irish
We’re seeding the Challenges activity with some Worldwide Challenges. If you have an idea, submit it here: http://t.co/JzWQ4P0@huffinpuffin2 wrote:

Is for the one in Wausau.
If I got it right, you can challenge almost anything (fellow cachers can flag the challenge and too many flags = deletion of challenge) and completed challenges counts as a find but making a challenge does not count as a hide.
That How I took it. “GO punch your boss in the nose” would be a challange and I fell VG would be all over it!
