Thanks for the offers to help, but I guess they don’t wan’t my money as it seems that I can’t get an answer from a BOD member. I guess they just don’t care.

A little harsh, wouldn’t you say? I can’t speak for other BOD members, but I have been out of town for the entire weekend and just saw your posts from yesterday. Sorry, but if you expect immediate 24/7 response to forum posts, you will continue to be disappointed.

There have been a couple of offers to make sure you get a shirt if you want one. If you’re interested, I’m sure something can be worked out.

    No I don’t think so.
The original post about the shirt was made on April 30. 1:31pm
Orders need to be by May 3rd, 11:59. Sure heck of a lot of time to place an order.
I left town at Noon on Friday and saw the post @ 6 on Sunday.
ONE would THINK just maybe, mailing out shirts would be an option to those who can’t make the event. Post how much it will cost to send. When you handing out shirts at the event, when ya come across my name , ya slip it in a big envelope and send it off.

I guess it doesn’t matter anyways since I’m in the membership minority and you will be way too busy pass out shirts the throngs of majority WGA members who will be attending this event.

So please disregard my posts. I sure I can find something else to spend my $30 on.

So you missed the Newsletter announcement then? This thread was not the “original post”.

Here is the text from the newsletter you should have received via email around the middle of April.

Campout Shirts And Groundspeak Items For Sale

If you would like to buy 2010 WGA Geo-Campout shirts, they are currently available in the WGA Store. T-shirts are available from $10, crew sweatshirts from $15, and hoodie sweatshirts from $22.

New this year, the WGA is also offering a limited number of Groundspeak items that can be ordered now and picked up at the campout. The prices are the same as those in the official Groundspeak store, but you save by not having to pay shipping costs. Some of the Groundspeak items available include cache containers, travel bug tags (at the reduced price of $4.25), and Signal the Frog items.

Profits from the sale of the shirts and Groundspeak items will be used to defray the cost of putting on this and future WGA events.

Use this link to enter the WGA Store and place your order:

Ummmm…… When was the design for the shirt chosen????
Or was I to buy a shirt unseen?

SO orders have to be in by the 3rd. I can’t make the event but want to order a hoodie. If I pay shipping can I order it or am I SOL????

in reply to: Congratulations to BakRdz, t-shirt designer! #1928231

OK, I see orders have to be in by the 3rd. If I put in for a hoodie, Am I gonna get it?

We’ve always handed out the t-shirt orders at the camp-out to keep expenses on the sale to a minimum. If you can arrange for someone to pick up your shirt and get it to you that would be great. I would love to offer this help myself but I’m not from the same geographic area

May be WE need to change this….. or are they just for the SE WGA members???
Ya, there is a lot of that….. 🙄

What if I’m willing to pay for postage? Cuz there is not anyone close to me and/or unless money from North of 64 is unwanted??? I wanted a shirt last year and was told no and “The WGA doesn’t do shirts for the picnic”. So guess I’m just a 3 time loser.

One more note. Sen. Jauch stopped by work is morning and dropped me a note saying “that he was having his office call the DOT office and start looking into it”.

in reply to: DOT rest areas #1924647

Well, he hasn’t forgotten! He’s on a local radio program right now and mentioned he talked to a ” concerned citizen about DOT policies”

I was at work today when a gentleman I thought I recognized came in the store. He bought a local l paper and left. A few hours later he was back in and bought something else. I stopped him and asked him if he was who I thought he was. He indeed was. The gentleman was Sen. Bob Jauch of Poplar, WI. Dist 25. SO I asked if I could have his ear for a few minutes.

I asked him if he had ever heard of geocaching. He had not. So I gave him the quick 101 lesson. Explained to him how the DNR as worked with the WGA and geocachers to set a policy for geocaching on DNR lands. Told him all is good. BUT the WI DOT has been against it on DOT properties. He asked what properties. I told him waysides and park & rides and such. He ask why would cacher go to these place looking for caches. I said traveling and such. I explained how the Min DOT & Min State Parks have embraced geocaching and how it increased visits to the Parks by 30 or so percent. He said he would give the DOT a call.

I am heading out of town in the morning for the weekend. But when I return home, I will send him an email with more details about geocaching in general when I return home.

Also to note. There is a local Hayward Gal who is running for State Assembly. Her and her family do geocache but have not been very active as of recent.

    So…..just maybe.

I think that there should be a separate sticky announcement for this. I never saw it until it was posted in the Thread Stealer’s. Coin Vote Now Open!

Sounds like even more interest than might have been anticipated….now how to get these to the folks who want them if they do not make it to the next WGA event.

As I have been told, “ya SOL if you can’t make it…”
