There’s a whole lot of taking out of context or expanding on what someone has said lately.
Any WGA vote is only voted upon by a small number of members. So it’s a not a true vote of the masses.

Here’s a thought for the next WGA event. Make all Perm. caches Premium. That makes a seperation right there. Some can, some can’t. That’s fair right? The choice had been made for you. That’s what’s being done now. You wan’t a smiley, you need to pay. You want a ticket, go find a temp.

I don’t understand why some are so concerned over something so meaningless.

Then why log them if they are meaningless?

BECAUSE I FOUND THEM WITH THE USE OF A GPSr.

So finding a cache without a GPS shouldn’t count?

    From the 2009 Picnic Thread-

1 raffle ticket per individual attending (given at registration, along with raffle plan, instructions, and prize list)

1 raffle ticket given if they can show they found 10 temp caches (for each booklet shown) and don’t give tickets for permanent caches)

1 raffle ticket given if they can show they found 25 temp caches (for each booklet shown)

1 raffle ticket for each bingo card with a bingo

1 raffle ticket for each blackout.

Basically everyone would get 1 ticket with no effort, 3 with minimal effort and up to 5 with lots of effort.

I found 25 perm cache. I would need to find 50 to get credit?????

OK !!!! Plain and simple. The WGA does not want multi-attend logs for it events. WGA puts out Temps. And then GIVES credit for finding temps.
Somewhere, somehow. that just makes my head hurt trying to figure out.

Can’t the temps just be put out with out being rewarded for finding them?

And WGA members who did not attend the event were cheated is stupid.
HOW MANY CACHERS EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE WGA???? Or even from Northwest WI??? I talked to cachers last week who emailed me to ask what it was cuz of the link on my cache page.

The LOGO is STILL wrong! It should be ESEWGA!!! Cuz thst is what it is and always will be.

The same logic could be extended to ask why anyone attending an event should be rewarded with a chance to win a prize, and shouldn’t all WGA members have the same chance of winning? Were members that didn’t attend the event penalized?

So why is there even a WGA no log Temp Policy?????????? I hope you guys get elected and change it!!!!

No!!!! My comments were not ment to be EXTENDED!!!!! YOUR TAKING IT FULLY OUT OF CONTEXT! I was one that nominated you Brain and almost whish i hadn’t!!!!!!!!! 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿

You just don’t get it. If I would have left at 4am to be at the park by 6ish, maybe I could of tried to go for them all. If I lived closer, maybe I could have already found the perms na dcould have gone after the temps.
I could care less if I won a prize. I just want it to be fair. And in my opinion it not. Will i ever get back down to the park, no clue. Maybe.
But I will tell you, IF I ever go to another WGA event to a place I never been to before, I’ll go find a perm before a temp.

In the poll, what was the % that said that they would not Attend the event if there was not Temps? Why? Whay can’t you revist a Perm? I think that’s a good question Why can’t you????????? And why, cuz YOU CAN’T RELOG IT!

in reply to: Why I voted "NO" to logging temps #1887196

Well, I guess it’s a moot point anyways, cuz there will never be WGA Camp Out north of Hwy 8 anyways. So I’m done with this topic for now.

If you’re so against the idea of temp cache placement solely because they can’t be logged online then so be it. There are many other people who feel differently.

No, your mistaken. I’m not against placements. “IF” there is ever another event at at Wissota Park again, and I if I have found all the permanant cache, I would go out with a group of people and look for temps. I enjoy talking and caching with others that I have not met before. There were perms and temps to hunt. I chose to hunt hte perms. I chose to sit around the gathering and meet people. All in all, if ity was not for Elfdocotors, I probably would not have got 25 that day.
My beef is that I should have the same chance at a drawiing as everyone else did. Being rewarded/penealized for finding a cache is not fair.

Lets say a GPS was donated to the WGA for the event. Shouldn not everyone who attened have the same shot at winning it? If I donated a prize to the event should I say it’s only for those who DID NOT find a temp? A lot of prizes were donated. I might think twice next time to donate anything if the prizes are not given away on a level playing field.

But the the reason the tickets were given out was to make Temps WORTH something. And the only reason the Temps were placed was to make some happy. I thnk the thread is locked now, but there was a big discussion about it. IF the WGA doesn’t want Temps from events logged, why put them out and then give dredit for finding them???. There wil be a time when there will be a WGA Event at a park where permanant caches won’t fit and all it’s going to be all Temps. That will make things interesting.

As far as the drawings went, every team (if not every person) recieved a ticket and had a chance for a prize.

But those who found the TEMPS got extra tickets!

in reply to: Why I voted "NO" to logging temps #1887182

Not to bring up this dead horse again but I have a question.
But first a short story- I attend my 1st WGA Fall Picnic Last September.
I had never been to the park before or cached there. I teamed up with Trekkin & Elfdoctors and found 25 regular caches. The most I have ever found in one day. Elfdoctors pushed me pretty good. So go that I had to stop caching because of blisters on my feet. Did not look for one Temp and did not find all the rest of the regular caches.

So here is my question. Why should I be penalized for not looking for a temp cache? They (WGA BOD or the Picnic Committee) wanted to make temps “worth something” for finding them. So ya got extra tickets for the drawing. How is that fair? If there aren’t temps, people won’t show. So they don’t show. I know there is a topic going in the Candidates Corner on topic. Can some one explain to me how this is fair? Also it is my opinion until GC.com makes it so you can’t attend multiple times it a mute point and people can play the game however they want. I just don’t think that I should be penalized for playing the game the way I want.
