why are the oregon/colorado better than the 60 series?
Keeps track of the caches you found for quicker logging when ya get home.
The Map 60CSx also does this in the calander and by recent finds functions.
Just to be clear on this, the Oregon and Colorado are set up so that when you get home you can just plug the gps into the computer, and download all your finds and DNFs directly to gc.com without any manual entry or having to go thru a third source such as Express Logger.

What the heck is Express Logger? So how does it log a log? Is it a generic log? I’m just trying to learn about it is all.

If you have your GPS manual I believe you are looking for the projection function.
You can set a specified distance and compass bearing from a waypoint and the gps will make a new waypoint in that direction/distance away. The steps will differ for doing a projection with every model, but on my 60Cx it goes as follows: find button, select waypoints(or geocache), in the list of waypoints select the one you want to project from. When you get to the screen that give the waypoints details(name, note, coords, ect.) press menu again & select project waypoint.
Now you need to put in your compass bearing, distance & unit of measure for the projection & hit goto to finish making the projected waypoint. Not to steal this thread, but just what does one DO with the “Project Waypont Function”? I have it but more or less ignore it.

Bah! You don’t need any $$$ program to simply download waypoints into your GPSr.
Download Easy GPS and use that.
Once your pocket query is mailed to you, simply open it with EasyGPS then download it. You can always make the jump to GSAK at a later date.
It’s also what I use with no problems.
I also like cache magnet( you can google it also.) It’s muli-fuctional as you can use it load you Gramin & you I-pod if you go paperless. It also useses a vety handy map and it lets you make a hard copy report of your quary if you want. Thr tirck is what comm port to use.Ummm, if it’s a puzzle cache , you should be able to edit it under waypoints, if I’m reading you post right.
Got 20 or so new notifications this morning and still getting double log notifications.
Way to go Mathman. He add, just cant count. 😉

I don’t see where that container is labelled “Geocache….”
Put your glasses on. It’s there. Above the yellow lettering on the bottom.
I HAVE one that size. The one I saw was bigger than that. 2X bigger?
No, I wont spend $50 for 1 ammo can. Maybe $20-$25
It was like 14x 14×16.Sandlanders, I put a cache out just for you! 😈 * HUTT HUTT* 😆

You can load both Topo and Navigator on the same card, no need to switch cards.
*sigh* I JUSSSSSST found that out! Well, now I have a back up card I guess. I thought I read somewhere that I need to put them on 2 diffrent cards. I guess I thought wrong! Again!! 😳 And it’s still only 5% full.
I saw the BIGGEST ammo can at a surplus store in the cities last weeked. I think is was used to store mini rockets. It was bigger than the big cans at FLeet Farm. $50.
Well, I’ve had my City Navigator now for 2 weeks. So that’s hgow auto routing works! 😆 I used it last week to get to a hotel in the Cities last weekend and I got there no problem. And I don’t know the Cities all that well. I bought a 2nd SD card so now I can switch between Topo & Navigator on the fly.
Thanks to all for the info.PS – Paid $99 for City Navigator North America at Gander Mountain. Saw the same thing at Cabela’s for $119
Not that I know ANYTHING about computers, but when I had computer issues last month and had to re-install EVERTYTHING, my computer people said NOT to install EI 8. I installed 6 and then installed the huge service pak, which upgraded to IE 7. Everything I searched said not to download EI 8.
Ralph, where does it say anything about Irish? I must be missing it.
No climbing of trees will be involved. Also, the bike trails are closed till May 2. So all will have to hike to caches.
Do FTP’s count in this thread?
