Here is a different concept: geocache when you want, where you want, as much as you want. Don’t worry about milestones, numbers and the like. They will take care of themselves. Just get out in the woods and have fun!

I agree also. Just go out and do it. I knew I was close to my 100th but was just out getting them where I could. It just happens that my 100th find was at a very cool little park North of Siren. Just go have fun and enjoy the hunt.

That was my second option…..but I don’t think my work schedule will allow it…

But I am glad that SOMEONE had that same idea.

Call in sick! Tell them ya have cachefeverities. Cuz that’s what it sounds to me. Where’s Doc. or elfdoctors? I’m sure one of them will right ya a note.

So, from what I read now, the minimum a cache can be you is 3 months?
How many caches get published, then disabled right away and then archived? So I put caches out for a week and then I decide to archive then, is a Reviewer going to un-archive them?

OH here’s another idea, make them TERRACACHES, NAVI OR A BIG BOB”S! HECK! I’ll bet Roger and I or PassingWind will even sponsor THE WGA AND APPROVE the caches the WGA puts out. Everyone will get points but not a stupid smiley face cuz it aint about the smileys right? Cuz ya don’t get a smiley by multi logging an event right?

If you are gonna go through ALL the trouble of putting a cache out, WHY NOT MAKE THE LEGAL????!!!!???!!!

Ya know, its such stupid stuff like this that’s going to drive the WGA apart.

Maybe it will happen sooner than one thinks. The formation of the “Geocachers of the North Club” and the Geocachers of the South and don’t forget the East and West Clubs. That way everyone can make there own set of rules and do whatever the heck they want

OH Boy! that is a problem! I’d say go get ’em and shoot for 200 at the camp out!

Until GC.com makes it so you can only log once it does not mater. People can B&M till they are blue in the face. Until that factor is taken care of it;s all a moot point. Is the BOD going to delete multi attends? I would hope they have better things to do with their time than become the Geo-Police

Have I ever been to an WGA event before, no. Have I ever logged a Temp. before, no. Am I going to travel the 6+ hour to attend this event, no. Thou I wish I could. How many cachers have logged temps from Northwest Wisconsin, I have no idea but it can’t be many cuz there has never been an WGA event north of Hwy 8. I know there was a WGA event near Eau Claire, but that’s still a 3-4 hour drive from the Superior/Bayfield/Hurley areas.

Plus how many Wisconsin Geocachers belong to the WGA??? Who knows!?

Here’s an idea. Place the caches, have them published the day of the event(Cuz there will be a Wi Reviewer there I bet!) and then the day after the event you achieve them. That doesn’t seem like a to hard of a thing to do to me, but what do I know I’m just a “Hick from Up North” who opinion don’t matter for nottin’.

Thanks for the heads up! I roam with a Pack and would hate to see one of them get hurt. Do you think the critters are more prevalent this year or have we just gotten lucky thus far?? Sorry to hear about your pups.

I think it’s just that time of year. The vet said that we were her 5th case is 2 weeks. I have started seeing more and more porcupines in the last 2 years thou. I’m sure they have a cycle just like everything else. When my grandfather was a State Forester, he carried a little .22 revolver to shoot porcupines. That was back in the 50’s and 60’s. Then they introduced fishers and that cut them back a ways.

THE WGA has no say. It’s up to Groundspeak to either so you can or can not log a temp. So this whole discussion don’t mean a whole lot cuz there’s nothing either side of this argument can do about it.

Question for you guys and girls i was surfing around on the wed and i ran across this site Buxleys Geocaching Waypoint is this a real site. For some strange reason i thought all Caches were located on GC.com and there was nothing better. so my question is is there any good sites to go read about caching and read about others who cache. i know it sounds stupid but just wanted to know

There are other geocaching sites as well, but they are not as good by a long shot. There is Terracaching and Navicaching too.

There is only one other I can think of to rival GC.com. It’s called Big Bob’s Bulletin Board of Caches. definitely the easiest caches to find.

    OH boy!…….. 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 😉
