Wow. Unbelievably amazing accomplishment!

1. “Challenge caches based on a specific list of caches, such as caches placed by a specific person or group, will generally not be published.” (Point 3a We have restricted “specific lists” for a while, but until now, we only restricted “owner challenges” of a person’s own caches, not someone elses.)
So, I was thinking of placing a series of caches in which each one has a clue to the coordinates of a final cache. Do I now need to do this as an multi-cache instead of separate caches since this would be a specific list of caches placed by a specific person?
Thx,
ChzWow! Busy day today. 🙂 Congrats!
I’ll chalk up us DNFing your “easy peasy hide” to the solar flare, fer sure. Thanks!!

Are you staying at the Fairfield Inn East Madison, or the Fairfield Inn in Middleton? The ones LMcGisme listed by the Fairfield, are near the one in Middleton, FYI.
Near Bowl A Vard, there are a couple of quick finds in nearby Reindahl park which are both really fun/unique hides that could be used as leverage to hook your mom on caching. 🙂 GC38FW4 and GC352HY
Amazing! Congrats!
I was trying to figure out that link to the free maps too…so do you have to download multiple maps? One for every little region you are interested in? Thx!!
Awesome! Congrats!!!
We recently got the Dakota 20 too and are struggling with it (our first GPS). If you come up with any newbie tips, we’d love to hear them! So far we are mostly just using the waypoints function, but can’t seem to find it helpful until we get right to the GZ with our smart phones, then drill in to the actual cache with the Dakota. The built in maps seem to be useless, but not sure what maps to load.
Thanks! We are newer to placing caches too, and were wondering the same thing.
Schnapps got me a pair of winter gloves that you can wear when using touch screen devices. No more using my nose on the screen rather than taking the gloves off during the hunt! 🙂 http://www.agloves.com/

We’d be in…as long as we don’t have to scale any walls.
The Commander told me that he was stepping up to try and be the contact for us, so we chatted with him, and cited him as our “approver” for the 2 caches we recently placed in Madison parks.
I would like to go to bed, but I cannot stop staring at this puzzle. Really having trouble getting the hang of puzzle caches! 😯

We had a great week in the UP last month with the Geodogs near Ishpeming.
A really fun one was:
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=220f3836-c953-459a-a941-3fe25a93cb5a Moose Rapids Campground. We had read the description before we went up and were quite intrigued by this instruction: “To find this cache you WILL NEED 1 GALLON BUCKET AND A TOWEL OR A CLOTH”. A very unique hide!We also went on a bit of a waterfall quest while we were there – found a number of them, and there was not one person in sight at any of them!!
Our favorite was Adler Falls. Gorgeous, and you can wander all over around the falls, upper and lower. Make sure you find the right trail head (see our post with the sign to look for!). Very short hike (if you find the correct trail!), a bit steep at the end, but not too bad.

Reany Falls was very beautiful as well – they list the terrain as 3.5 which is weird because it is basically a park and grab! You walk into the woods about 100ft and there are the falls! Super quick find, and gorgeous falls.

We had never seen anything like this rock formation! Vibrant layers of red, and a great lookout point. Short hike up. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=795ec046-6d87-444b-ac64-959dd934a0fd
ETA – Just saw your follow up post about your loss, sorry to hear it.
