The main issue IMO between Letterboxing and Geocaching – and yes, we do both… is that from my OWN experience – more Geocachers do things ‘by the book’ and ask for permission before planting. Caches must be APPROVED.
With letterboxing – you just list your box, and I KNOW many LB’rs just place them – some boxes even state ‘the property owners don’t know the box is here’ or ‘be discreet when finding’.
If the complaint is Geocachers bushwhacking, which it often is – we are no more guilty. I hear the same complaints from the LB’rs, and IMO its kind of a silly blame-game. At least many MANY cachers get permission, fill out the paperwork, and are responsible for their hides.

Make that 30! Yeah, we are in IL, but who doesnt want to see TWO Groundspeak Events… and, I hate driving in Chicago. :p
Carpool from the IL/WI Border anyone? I hear parking rates down there are crazy!

I got this reply about prices today: I think you can look at between about 6.22 and 6.75 for a trackable with an Icon. That is using the big guys. Using another option and foregoing glitters you could well be in the 5.75 range per coin.
And.. I think we could beat this price depending on the design. 😉 You’d save on shipping alone.

It would be kind of hard to get a quote from you guys since you never answer my e-mails 🙄 .
I never got any emails from ya – try info(at)geocoindesign.com or pcollins(at)cinemaboxers.com
We have a voracious spam filter, and sometimes things slide thru – but I havent seemed to have a problem lately. If all else fails – PM me here.
When its time for a quote, please consider getting one from us. We mint coins now as well, and would be happy to compete. 😉
Sounds VERY cool! And… keep your eyes open for a 2008 IL/WI coin project!
Oh! I SOOO can’t wait!!!

It would have to be the one we get the most fun responses on… But.. we couldn’t have even planted this cache without the help of Rogheff, Missyja007 and Freespace69.
Its a fun one…
Im also proud of our DaVinci series… its been alot of fun to hear from all the people who’ve done the caches in the series, and completed it.
Yep! Custom Icon!
I always say theres an exception to every rule…
Technically – if I WANTED to log some of our hides as finds, it would be valid.
Heres my take..
For some of our plants, I have NEVER been to the location, seen the container, and have literally no clue where they are. 🙂
Jim planted them when I was not around. So, if I went to the coords, it would be the same as any other person making a find. Now… I have NOT gone to them, or logged them, but TECHNICALLY my logging them would be the same as anyone else who had to find the cache, right?
Again, I know not the norm – but just one of those ‘techncally, it could happen’ situations!
