    Hello!

We wanted to post an update on the event!

Bass Pro Shops – Outdoor World (Gurnee) is sponsoring our Geocoinfest Multi Event – They have donated a NEW Garmin eTrex GPS along with a $50 gift card for our raffle!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Wow! Really?? I wonder if its online anywhere!!!

Hes a SUPER nice guy – I liked him on the news already, but after meeting him in person, we like him tenfold. Hes really a down to earth nice fella, who really enjoys caching.

I will add, his segments have definitely helped caching in the SE WI area – when we are out and about, its amazing how many people know what we are doing when they see us with the GPS’.

At Fish Hook a couple walked past, and I heard them say “Oh, they are Geocaching – I saw it on the news!”

Makes for a nice experience when people dont assume you are up to no good!

    We were there!

Got all 32 listed caches, got to meet Vince and some of the other WI cachers, saw alot of deer, and helped some newbies!

We also were seriously SWARMED by those flies – so much that Jim and I took our shirts and dunked them into the lake to finish the north loop!
    (Helped quite a bit!)

Was a fun day, till I got home and realized I wasn’t feeling too well. UGH!

Oh well.. a fun time was had by all – and I do agree that the turnout was pretty good. Beautiful place, and I heard that there will be more permanent caches placed in the park.

Looks like we might make this!

Will hopefully see you all there!

    Hello Everyone!

Just posting a reminder – our Geocoinfest Multi-Event is coming up soon. October 6th to be exact.

For those of you who don’t know – all over the world there will be many different Multi-Events on October 6th.
Each is being individually organized by coin collectors, but the events are NOT exclusive to Geocoin obsessed folks, such as myself.

We’d love to see all the locals there, and we WILL be having several out-of-state cachers visit as well!!

We have gotten some amazing donations from coin companies, Groundspeak, and private individuals for contests and raffles.
Many of the prizes are Geocoins, but there are also cache containers, books, and more.

We will be holding a raffle, and will have some games to go along with the food, fun and friends!

We hope to see you all there, it should be a really fun evening!

And – come hungry! The good folks at Rockys are VERY glad to be welcoming the cachers there, and told us to stay as long as we like!
The prices are already reasonable, but anyone there for the event gets 15% off their purchase by mentioning they are there for the event!!!

Email or post with any questions!

    Heres the event page:

Still debating on what to do here.. I really want a Fox coin, but Id like to make the picnic.

Thanks SammyClaws – Ill take you up on that – and remember I wouldnt mind paying the fee for the coin! Or, Id be happy to trade you for another coin I have – your choice! (I have some nice ones!)

Anyone else going for sure??? I so dont want to miss this coin!!!!

in reply to: Cost to mint a coin? #1878637

You can submit your own art, but the coin will be more ‘accurate’ if you have final art completed PRIOR to minting. (in other words, if I wasn’t an artist I dont think I would rely on the mint for my artwork – they are all over the place)

Start to finish – depending on number of coins – it varies. Is the coin round? 2D or 3D, how many colors will it have? Etc, etc…

I would EXPECT to spend around $1500 for your coins (Could be more, could be less) The market is good for a well-designed coin, and personal coins usually do fairly well. (As long as the coin is done well)

The time it takes depends on the mints art usually! Sometimes when you send over art, they just cannot get the blueprint right. I had one coin take 12 tries to get correct. After THAT is done, it takes about a month.

Anyone interested in having a family member pick up a coin for us?

We are trying to decide what to do –

GONIL Picnic, or FOX Cachefest. We really want one of those coins, being as tho we are serious coin addicts.

So.. if anyone can volunteer a family member, we will pay the fee for their participation so we can get a coin too!!

    (Or trades anyone???)
