I agree about some I just dont want to complete… but another problem I personally came across during a new plant was that the REPORTED final coordinates for a local multi-stage cache were NOT where the final ACTUALLY is located. (And no, its not a matter of a glitchy GPS or just off by a few feet… its like, other side of the woods off. Across a lake off. Over a half mile off.)

So… my chosen spot was rejected – there was NOTHING in the area. Nothing at all. Until, we were able to provide the coords to the final cache – which it ended up being well UNDER the required distance from yet ANOTHER cache.

So.. it was frustrating – and no – it wasn’t any of our usual cachers who made this plant! LOL

All was resolved, and everyones caches are in place and active now.

But, I agree that there should be a system – I was so frustrated with one we planted – went out, found the PERFECT spot, and it was 50 feet too close. I didnt get a chance to get right out to move it, and the cache went missing before it ever got active, as a RASH of them were muggled in this area. I only wish that a few folks could have found it, as I think it would have been a really enjoyable one.

Not to sound like a sourpuss… but Im not a big fan of multis for this reason. Ive yet to do one that I thought could not have been equally good as a traditional cache. But then, maybe Im doing the wrong multis.

But wait… Ill make two exceptions –

One was Three Little Cemeteries – but then, it pointed you only to the general location, and each location would be too small to hold more than one cache in any case.

The other was “On the Border” – which the containers and the placement was a challenge. But most of the multis I have encountered have just been a few different film canisters, or micros leading to a larger one.

If the locations TAKE you somewhere interesting, or have you find interesting containers, or fun spots – then I understand a good multi. But some of the ones we have found would have been perfectly acceptable traditionals.

It just sucks when you have a GREAT spot for a cache picked out, only to find out that a stage two film canister is preventing you from hiding a nice cache.

Congrats everyone… we did a GREAT IL cache today. (Three Little Cemeteries) REALLY enjoyed it.

    Yeah, thats excessive –

But, hanging on a little longer when you are a ‘casual jeeper’ is reasonable.

We like to collect Jeeps, but we try and only keep them long enough to take the goal photo, and then move them on…

Just picked up another last night – and passed another one on!

Its fun to seek them out and grab them, but these are often held a little longer than most TB’s as the ‘grabbers’ need a little time to think of an excellent “Goal” photo.

Oh yeah.. but even better NOW I think “Theres NO cache in that tree????” “Why NOT in THAT park?”

LMAO then I run home to see whats close, and if the area is ‘plantable’!

We have a few planned, but a recent one we put out there will be hard to beat. Its a real challenge…

Im just bummed that ALMOST WI caches placed (or assisted by) WI cachers cant be nominated. I’ll go pout now. 😥

As for the license plate… whatever happened to the “Handymans Secret Weapon”???? Duct tape! I mean, we use it for everything else, right??

in reply to: Thanks to all who planted new caches #1765808

Yes.. we had a GREAT time this weekend doing the new ones! Fantastic!

We tried the new Rogheff ones the night we saw them published, but no luck – at 7 AM, the NEXT morning.. Im sleepless thinking, “What did I miss?” ……. 10 minutes later, Im pedaling my bike up the road to SEE what I missed. LMAO Obsessed? Yeah, maybe… but at least its a healthy obsession, right?

What an excellent area to live, and what excellent cachers to be surrounded by!

Wow… now I feel like mine is neglected because it hasn’t been named.
Im a bad, bad GPS parent.

Its a Magellan Explorist 500. Works FANTASTICALLY, but probably thinks its name is “Dammit” by now due the ‘pre-find’ search rants.

Oh well.. Im sure theres a few other “Dammits” out there.

Um.. Sams Club! They sell Vermont 9 month old aged white cheddar! LMAO You werent SPECIFIC that it had to be WISCONSIN Cheese!

    😛

And, yeah, the Vermont Cheddar is pretty darn good.

If it has to be WI cheese, Ill just head to the Cheese Castle! Im sure they have some!

in reply to: So where are all those Green Jeeps… #1765541

We have two Green Jeeps we are JUST waiting to get photos for the contest entry prior to dropping! We just handed another one off.. Most of ours were discovered in caches – but we did get a handoff as well!!

My point was – I wanted to share my contest entry for one of them!!

    😆

in reply to: Which Cachers have you met? #1765760

Well.. we met some on the trail today! 2forGeoFun!
VERY nice couple, and were hitting the same caches we were (The new Bristol woods ones) We learned there that Nemesis 8 was out right now, so we will have to head back on THAT one.

We will be out again tomorrow – anyone planning on any specific areas or caches? Would be VERY neat to find some cachers!! We have not even BEGAN to plan our day tomorrow….
