I’m with Mrs E, I’m checking this out so much that i’m disappointed when there isn’t a new post to read.. But yes i read this all the time!

in reply to: Why do you travel to cache?? #1768943

Would I Travel Up North to go Geocaching, uh H**L yea!!
Would I travel this far to see great geographical and historical places? Yes, anyone who knows me, Knows i love history and If you know my family, and our Family Trips, We would travel summer long trips when i was in school to many differnt parks (state, federal, county it didn’t matter) and camped to the whole time (and somepeople wonder why i love the outdoors)
Traveling long distance doesn’t scare me, actually i love, and discounts on lodgeing more of a bonus for me!

in reply to: Question for the Candidates… MAGC #1768656

I realized i probly used the wrong wording on my question, oh if WGA could take over as a WI Chapter Leader, maybe WGA could appoint a person to do this When/If i leave. Because it is a one person job at this point of time, because right now its just contacting MWR at the bases and explaining about Geocaching and how we can help make a program/classes/meet and greets,

*also as far as the current BOD not getting in contact with me about an answer i in no way place any blame on them for that, I understand about being busy for myself i have been pretty busy with other things, after i placed the questions to the BOD, and i have a year and half before anything has to be in black and white in who will take over when/if i leave.

I’m agreeing with Marc on Roe Park, because i looked too and could not find it either because of all the trash that was there!

in reply to: would you cache with a stranger? #1768010

Well.. i don’t mind it at all. i mean i was a stranger when i went to my event at Da Fu’s event and that was overnight.. it was fun! made a lot of friends.. i just look at it this way, Strangers are no more then friends you just haven’t met yet! at least thats the way i look at it for cachers! so i no i don’t have a problem with it! as far as caching!

in reply to: 2007 CITO for this territory #1767255

Just to put it out there.. as an option.. i know that NW Ohio Geocacher’s adopted a section of a Highway and hold a Cito Event once every couple months not sure of the exact timeline but its somewhere around there! Maybe we could do that somewhere around here..

Also since you guys are a military.. might i suggest also checking out MAGC http://www.militarycache.org this is a military related geocaching assocation where military members can talk and if they fly in to a place they can maybe meet up with some local cachers to go caching with while on TDY… just a thought and again Welcome! hope to see you on the Trails!!

in reply to: The Gauntlet… End Of The Games #1767516

    LO,
Everyone who found the Gauntlet took away some sort of memory or keepsake or friendship.. So i’ll be one of the many who thank you for giving me a wonderful memory/keepsake/and friendships that will hopefully last for years to come!
    Thank you

and on a lighter note- i told my sister about the truth of the Gauntlet and she has yet to talk to me, every time i have called her so far all she says is “I don’t want to talk to you” and hangs up.. its funny.. i love it! no worries she’ll get over it! she usually does..
What is sad i almost had her conviced to actually do the Gauntlet.. of course i guess its kind of a good thing cuz she would of killed me right there on the spot…

in reply to: Recommend Winter Caches In Milwaukee/Kenosha area #1767579

they are from CA and haven’t actually gone caching in the winter before so i think that easy caches would be good!

in reply to: The Gauntlet… End Of The Games #1767511

I’ll admit i was hoodwinked when i went after this cache, and everyone who went only one of us actually said out loud to LO what he was truely feeling *cough cough zuma cough cough*
But afterward we end up doing a cache that was so worth doing and i was happy, now my dad wasn’t so much but he was already cranky cuz he had rode on his motorcycle over 500miles to do that cache! (FIRST LONG DISTANCE TRIP HE HAS EVER TAKEN ON HIS BIKE) but afterward he had to admit it was good and was still worth coming out and doing! and then we went and did some of the Devil Lake caches, so it was worth it anyway, and then in Sept i came out to **see off** the MN cachers.. i won’t voice how i really felt/feel… but oh well, it was still worth going and meeting new people… and that honestly was the best part! and thats why i love the Gauntlet and think it was worth doing cuz if you did it right, you’ll get what you want out of it.. and What i got out of it was friendship, and a Military who is going to be moving every 3-4 years friendship is the most important thing… but thats just my .02
