Apparently I had a different interpretation of what this means, but maybe I’m just not a “Gander” regular so I didn’t catch the full meaning.
01/20/2010 Due to the continued interest and the suggestions of several “Cachers”, Gander Mountain-Appleton will give a $10. “Gander Bucks” Card to all previous loggers and all subsequent finders. Just come in, go to the Service Desk, get your “Name” checked off and receive your card.
What this means as I found after visiting for my $10 card is that you get a coupon card for $10 off a $50 or more purchase. The “$50 or more” is a critical missing piece of information.

There was a drive by shooting in Appleton this morning near my house. The house behind one of my coworker’s was the “target”.
It’s real safe here.
And my hometown of little ole’ Berlin just nabbed 30+ drug dealers and it made the USA Today. So much for safety.

The Appleton Scheels sporting goods store also shows the coords on the home page….both of those stores are great.
I know the sporting goods department manager personally at Scheels. I’m going to take the “Gandering” printout and show him what his “competition” across the street is doing. Maybe we can get something going on both sides of the highway.

Hey I just solved that one. Any of you 30 watchers planning on doing it soon?
Cheeto – did you do sloppy seconds yet? I need to hit that one and a walk to the original S4 wouldn’t be bad either.
Let me know when the tour is for Sloppy Seconds and I’ll go out a day or two ahead and return it to the hiding spot it was at on 1/1/10 to make this a little more exciting. 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈
Congratulations on #1900. Having the police involved always makes the caching experience better.
Congratulations on #1800. What a great milestone choice and I’m disappointed I couldn’t attend to share in the excitement.
Puzzle #100 / Cache #300 was at “Logistics And Luck #2” (GC17VEH)
This actually could have turned out to be any number of puzzles in the Green Bay area though as I hadn’t picked a specific puzzle for the milestone. It was more about the adventure of doing 20 puzzle finds in a single day (a number of them being lonelies). Hitting the milestone was definately planned as I touched, but didn’t claim FTF, one of the new “Lost Civilation” series placed by BakRdz. I had the numbers aligned perfectly and just couldn’t sign this one until after the milestone was achieved.
The puzzles in Green Bay were definately different than those I’ve become accustomed to in the Fox Valley area. It was fun to do something a little bit different and work some puzzles by some of the great puzzlers of the north. We only logged one DNF which amazed me for a winter caching run.
The day actually yielded 3 milestones:
1) Cache #300
2) Puzzle #100
3) Best day caching (21 finds in one day)@BakRdz wrote:

Well here’s the understatement of the week.
Who asked you Puzzle Boy! 😛
Nobody. But with a setup like that … 😆 😆 😆

Congratulations on the milestone (and completing this great new series).
It’s been fun meeting up with you on the trail a couple of times.
Congratulations on hitting another milestone.
😀 X 700
One thing that I didn’t see anybody touch on yet is the distance from the nearest parking spot (whether listed or not).
I’m “relatively” new to caching, but have found that even in a park with ample parking and flat terrain, people won’t walk 200, 300 or more feet to a cache which really surprises me.
In “suburbia” traditional caches generally end up close to parking spots just as a matter of terrain.
I’ve noticed by looking at a number of the traditionals on the LCG list that many require a modest hike and many people just aren’t willing to do this. The flip side is that many puzzles (once solved) can be park & grabs.

Hrmm..the rot13 decrypto lines are over on the left now?
Maybe they just include a link to an FAQ or help file for the ROT13 thing. After about 5 uses anyone can build this in the field (if needed) and it wouldn’t clutter every single page.
I had no idea this even existed which I guess is my own ignorance and not searching through the whole site. It does explain, however, people “stalking” me. 😆 😆

Regardless, I see Jeremy’s wife still has her photo on the site. Nice smile!
That’s pretty cool. I had no idea someone from WI had a picture on here. Which picture?
Maybe we could supply a picture of chopping ice at SSSS & SSSS 😈
No wait that would scare everyone away. 😆
