Great Job Deejay. Thanks for the prompt posting of the list.
Congratulations on the milestone. Sounds like an excellent adventure.
Congratulations on the milestone. Funny about the sidewalk. I can recall a few places I bushwacked only to find a trail leading directly where I needed to go.
HOLY CRAP. I just read the entire post start to finish and had a hard time believing it.
Rick definately has the right attitude and what an inspiration for the rest of us.
Congratulations. I just read your log and sounds like it was a good time.
Sounds like a possibility. These are all puzzles right?
Don’t get frightened by getting it perfect the first time. Sometimes you just have to try it and submit it. If there’s something obvious wrong with it the reviewers will let you know.
I’ve had some submissions go through easily and others that are extremely painful. Most fall on the “easy” side though.
Our reviewers are also great at providing feedback about why something fails in the submit process. I can’t say enough good about the reviewers and how helpful they’ve been with those I’ve had issues with.
I certainly commend you though for being patient, asking for advice and wanting to do the right thing. That’s a HUGE step in the right direction.

I did buy an add-on product for track maps though.
What is the name of your add-on?
Accuterra on demand with the full Wisconsin map

If you’re walking I may also be able to help with shuttle service or provide some “guidance”.
I’d also highly recommend “Shepards” located about 1/2 mile northwest of the Berlin trailhead for a snack, meal or ice cream.

We also pair it up with a gadget by Magellan called a Toughcase.
How close does a Toughcase get you? Does it charge up like an idevice?
I use a Etrex Vista HCx and use my ipod touch as the paperless part of it. I have the geocaching app but I prefer iGeoknife which works great.I use the Magellan Toughcase w/ iPod (gen3) and Geosphere. It rocks when you only want to carry one device. It’s just as accurate as my eTrex Legend in the field (+/- 0.002) which is fine for me. I did buy an add-on product for track maps though. This is one area where I felt a little uncomfortable in bigger areas out of my normal caching area.
The toughcase is also waterproof (great for protecting the iPod on those water based caches) and also has it’s own battery which charges the iPod also. I get 5-6 hours of continual use on a fully charged toughcase / iPod.
There’s one that I help with as “trail boss” and it’s supposed to be on the ground. People continually move this one “up” assuming it belongs there. Up means D=1 and Down means D=3. In this case it makes a big difference as to how the cache is “supposed” to be and it’s interesting how periodically someone states in their log “Must have fallen so I replaced it higher”.
I generally don’t state in my log when I “move” a cache to where I believe it should be. I do send a PM to the CO though to give them the details. The reason I don’t put it in the log is to avoid “spoilers” for the next person looking.
I’ve had problems with squirrels moving my caches, but they just dont’ seem to listen. Maybe squirrels are causing your problems?
Congrats. Sounds like it was a quite an adventerous day. Complete with a break for brats along the way – thanks awesome.
Congrats on yet another milestone.
