That’s what I call dedication. I saw this notification just before lunch and thought about it until I checked the maps. I knew what was here and there was no way I was attempting that.

My other statement on the whole situation is that the way others play the game may not be exactly the way you play the game.

People use PAF’s, people share puzzle finals, people post spoiler photos, etc. It happens and there’s nothing you can do about it.

It’s a hard pill to swallow at times, but your actions of moving the cache don’t speak any better than those that might use a PAF. Just accept it because it’s going to happen.

I don’t know the cache / cachers involved, but the following is just an example of a PAF I did just yesterday. The words aren’t probably exact (my courtroom disclaimer), but you get the idea. This PAF situation gave away absolutely nothing and I was thankful to have somebody I could call for help. I even logged it like this in my log because I wasn’t afraid to tell the CO exactly what happened (GC363X5)

The conversation went something like the following:
Me: I need help with a cache
PAF: What? You have one of those GPS’s don’t you?
    Me: Yes, but I’m lost.
PAF: How can you be lost?
Me: I’m missing the important part (i.e. the coordinates)
PAF: HMMM. Did you look at the maps?
Me: Yes, but I’m not quite sure but I do think one of them is xxxxxx
    PAF: Any beacons?
Me: Well I just drove past what I think is the general area and saw xxxxxx.
PAF: Yep – I remember that beacon you’ll be fine.
Me: (thinking / wondering – What the hell does that mean?)
Me: I drove past the other one also and saw xxxxxx, yyyyyy, zzzzzz.
PAF: HMMM? I think you’ll find it.

I think the solar flares actually arrived yesterday. My GPSr was totally useless yesterday and I had to get help from a Muggle B. 🙄

    Writing the logs now. 😳

Glad to see our tax dollars are being spent addressing serious issues that affect our state. 🙄

Your “love” of the game leads to marital issues.

You “steal” the FTF on a tributee cache, because you just need your “fix”.

I’m not sure I understand this comment, so feel free to correct me if I misunderstood it.

I believe Walker has stuck pretty close to his campaign promises. I’m not 100% in agreement with his methods, but he has done what he said he was going to do. To the same aspect Obama is very similar in delivering on campaign promises. I’m not 100% in agreement with his methods either, but have to commend both a Republican and a Democrat for doing what they said they were going to do. Like them, hate them, it doesn’t much matter, but you can’t deny that they are delivering on their promises.

Recall? I agree that the recall is a fleecing of WI taxpayers. If you don’t like the decisions, then be patient until the next election and make a change as it should be made.

For us newbies, a step by step instruction list would be great. “How to load a PQ into a GPS using GSAK.”

What “tool” (i.e. piece of software) do you currently use to load data to your GPS?

Congratulations. This looks to be quite an adventure. 20.5 miles from home explains why I didn’t see the notification on my 20 mile radius.

I use GSAK also with my Nuvi (205W). You have to look in the “Custom POI” menu to see them. The cool thing is that it’s another paperless option because it stores all the miscellaneous cache info.

Congratulations Brian. It was a blast to be invited along on this adventure of a night cache. There are definately some unique turns to this cache and you made it look easy. I recall myself having a much harder time with it than you did, but maybe it was the nice flashlight you had.

It was fun watching you pace of the final offset and when you looked up you were right there. That was a pretty spectacular accomplishment in the darkness.

I’ve worked with the reviewers numerous times asking about potential locations. The key to this is building the “shell” of the cache page listing the coordinate. Then email Wis Kid or Bec and ask them to verify there aren’t any proximity issues. Just use the GC.com email and give them the GC number of the cache. Even though it’s not published they’ll verify the location and say yes or no. Then you can complete the cache page and actually submit it.

I’ve sent confirmation after seeing the solve. I also provided my notes to help “guide” the others that may join.
