Sounds like a plan in the works. E-mail us details.
~CBThis just reaffirms the reason I prefer an ammobox (or as the beast calls them, “cammobox”) over any other container. I’ve also seen the effects a controlled burn can have to a cache, only it was a tupperware type container. There was nothing left but a blob of melted and charred plastic. As bad as these contents look, I’m actually impressed by how much actually survived, especially the logbook. I remember what a great multi-cache Stute is, I hope you can replace it, Brian.
~CBPersonally, I think you’re all out of your mind. 😉
~CBI guess I haven’t made myself clear enough. I have absolutely no problem with this one cache in question. If the hider states the numbers are off or not, and if in fact they are or are not, is NOT what I’m getting at. What I am asking is this: Where is this “TREND“? The title of this thread is “A Disturbing Trend“. I see no trend. I see one cache that one person seems to have a problem with. Where are all the other caches that make up this trend? Is this a real problem, or was the title sensationalized to make us believe there is, when in fact, none exists. It seems to me to be the latter. There is already one black eye that Wisconsin geocaching has taken recently, (AKA the Appleton incident), and we certainly don’t need to be creating more negative aspects of geocaching, especially when it’s unfounded.
So I’ll ask again, and specifically to Team Deejay, what other caches are among this trend that you find disturbing?

😥 I agree with what the Major says, but ………
DeeJay mentions the cache actually states the coords are not correct, on purpose!
DeeJay mentions ONE specific cache where the owner states the coords are not correct on purpose…..what I’m asking is, where is this so called “trend”?

Jeremy, do you mind if I share this with the people in the Michigan Geocaching Organization Forums?
Nope, share away. Hopefully no one gets PI after using the logic though, since it has my name and email address on it (I can imagine some nasty emails if someone does get a rash). 🙂
I wouldn’t worry too much about nasty emails from that group, I have found them to be an exceedingly friendly group, just like most here! I think they will appreciate the info, as there has been a lot of pi talk in the forums over there recently.
After attending the MidWest Geo-Bash, we can attest to the friendliness of the great folks over at MiGO. We made many new friends, both from MI and OH. They are an exceptional group of people and we wish that lake wasn’t so big between us. Can a duck swim farther than a penguin? 😉

Try this.it worked real well on my dog.
I always have one of these in my caching bag. I have never had to use it but you never know what will come up.
hogrod, you need to come to Bong Rec. Area and hunt some caches there. I’ll guarantee it’ll get some use then.

I have noticed more and more caches in the area where the coordinates are INTENTIONALLY set badly…
Exactly how many of these “intentionally” bad caches are in your area? I’ve never seen a cache that was purposely off the coords, yet I have found hundreds that never matched up with my GPS’r at the time. Let’s not jump to conclusions on every cache that has conflicting readings. Are you sure this “trend” isn’t being set by you and your conspiracy theory?
~CBEver since the game deleted players names from the scoreboard who weren’t actively solving the online puzzles, it’s become impossible to tell how many players from Wisconsin are still involved. Right now there are 13 active puzzle solvers. With the upcoming live hunts being sent out, I was just wondering how many players are planning hides. I understand some players may just be playing the “live hunt” part of the game, and therefore no longer listed on the scoreboard.
So far Lostby and myself are each hiding 2, and cacheseekers is hiding 1. Anybody else…..?

…I tried to get a picture of Commander Bob mounting the coyote, but it was too late. Needless to say, the animal didn’t appear very happy about the whole ordeal.
I brought flowers and candy…who knew she preferred diamond earrings?
~CBThanks Jeremy! I’d just hate to be confused with one of those noobs . 😉
And rubi…I have the early morning schedule, while the brat sometimes doesn’t get home until the wee hours, so it’s not unusual for her to read my earlier posts, and sometimes even comment on them. But I must admit, we too have communicated via e-mail, even though we’re both in the same house. Go figure.
~CB
Ummmm…I guess what I really meant to say was, can I have the details also, or has Jeff already taken the ball and run with it? (guess I’ll have to be specific with my sarcasm next time) 🙄
~CB
Can I check Jeff’s PM too? Or is it top secret info?
~CBThere may or may not be one coming to the greater Silver Lake metropolitan area. 8)
On a side note:
Can someone please explain why a person who despises puzzles as much as liver and onions, feel compelled to spend an entire afternoon solving 25 of them? (Think the GPS catch has any merit?) 😕~CB
😀
