nah, won’t effect me one bit. 🙂

It didn’t effect me today either and I have found many without actually having a GPS with me but if we get a direct hit…not a glancing blow as being reported…it may have some significance.

Actually, it’s probably a “whiners excuse” for a DNF so now would be the time to go for it.

October 2005 but I started out with WayMarks.

I was wondering what others were thinking about this and was pleasently surprised to see that Challenge Caches are (on a scale of 1-10) with 1 being lowest…ranked no higher than 3 and it appears some would even give them a negative number. I don’t see the point…we do enough goofy things just getting to, retrieving and surviving the trip back.

in reply to: Business Cards #1951117

I actually make laminated cards that are dual sided with printing. Regular cards I can see soaking up moisture and getting yucky. I didn’t make any for 2011 and Wrongway Junebug kept bugging me until I did as she has a collection of my cards going back to 2006 (each year I change them slightly). It takes time to do and I put them in the cache for the cache owner to take but a lot of folks have seen my cards that are 2006 vintage and they are still in caches I found back then.

    8) Wow…and here I thought I was in the minority about being ticked off about crappy logs. What I look forward to is meeting the cacher that placed the cache (and I generally do) and have them tell me that they enjoyed reading my log. Several people at the WGA picnic sought me out just to tell me that which made me feel good and I got to meet cachers whose caches I found.

Maybe it is time for a little logwriting 101 lesson and perhaps a cut and paste HTML code that we could put on our cache pages.

Anybody watch the video? No kidding — all data could be lost: pictures, profiles, etc. Hopefully geocaching.com did a back up at some point! 🙄

The cache that I enjoyed when I did Waukesha was “More Power to you”. It is very clever and probably should have a higher difficulty rating.

For those that have found this forum and would like to try out the rating system, six of the eight caches I have hidden are rated using this system. My caches are in the Madison, WI area pretty equally divided between the east side and the west side of town.

Here’s another idea…a coin for each county.

I would think the map of the state with a big old Guernsey or Jersey cow superimposed on one side and maybe a flying “W” on the back with the tracking number.

OK…so I will bring the fruit salad…which by the way is my favorite dish to pass. When are we going to decide the when and where? After the camp-out?

Cool…don’t think I will be able to attend but a very neat symbol of what we do for a hobby. thanks.
