Don’t roll your eyes – they might stick
What color would you like your WGA stylized logo to be, pink?
Sorry, couldn’t resist that one. This is, generally, an outdoor sort of activity, one that is associated with woods and water. Wood ticks, dirt, rocks, getting wet, poison ivy and sweaty are all part of the game. We deserve a bold logo.
As far as history goes 3M, Coke or even GM have revised and re-revised their respective logos over time. Our challenge is to redesign the WGA logo to reflect of the views of our hobby/addiction.
I believe the one pitfall we want to avoid is a “club” design vs an “organization” design with our logo. This is why I believe some professional input is necessary.
Everyone seems to have a strong opinion on the issue so hopefully that will ultimately lead to an exceptionally good final design.
If that’s the route, why not a stylized “W” logo?
❓ DB ❓How about taking one giant step back, if we as an association, are going to employ a graphics firm? We, the board, should meet with them, explain our addiction, DO NOT show the winner, or losers of the straw pole and get some totally unbiased design and suggestions from them? We could provide results of our pole after the initial suggestions from the firm and hammer out a final design from there.

❗ ❗ NOW ❗ ❗ I totally agree with Seldom on the graphics professional approach to the new association logo.
Even if it means allocating association funds it would be well worth it in the end to have a first class memorable logo.
Need to start a bank account ear marked for this? I’ll pitch in.
Sorry, still not sold on the single “G” thing though.
DBI think Jeremy is on to something!
Now if we could add the “W” and “A” in the same format and colors (got to love those colors) We may just have the winner.
Sorry Seldom the stylized “G” is to girlie for my liking.

Maybe Cheesehead Dave could get permission from the Packers to use their colors – then we could make the “G” and the outlined state Packer Gold – Yea that’s the ticket. Washington doesn’t have spit to compare to that!
DBI’ll hunt whatever seems to be available in an area I am heading to but must say that the more creative the hide is the more fun it is to find.
Large or small caches by friends like Knowschad and Mutsley & Crew are almost ALWAYS rewarding to find.
I think all those out there could take a lesson from these Master Cachers.

Dear BOD and Zuma,
I would hope the discussion process and ultimate decision can be made in a timely manner. Also, I would like to know if the BOD has given any thought to getting input from a professional graphic artist to “polish up” whatever design is finally decided upon.
I personally would like the logo to be as professional looking as possible.
My 2 cents

😀
If That’s the case: I’M IN.
Talk to ya Monday.

😆Hey Jeremy,
Do you have any preliminary totals yet? If ya need any extra fingers and toes let me know. hehe
Inquiring minds want to know!
Thanks,
DB
😆😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥
Same day as the Mutsley & Crew event
😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥I am amazed by the numbers!
I was happy to get a few hundred finds in my first year caching. Now look at the totals some of our new friends are racking up – amazing.
Besides our dr friends check out another friend of mine from Minnesota: Bobcam, 3473 finds in 285 days! On track for 4448 in his first year caching.

DBJust wondering if the Board has given any thought to allowing a professional graphics artist to make suggestions for the final detail work on whatever logo is chosen.
I think it would be a good idea to get input on this level before “we” finalize. All the designs are good but all seem like a little sizzle could be added while still being faithful to the original designs.
Thanks,
DBWith round one voting done what is the current schedule for the final round?
I would also like to know if Jeremy could re-establish the page showing all the entries and note the three winners to move to round two.
Thanks for that.

Thanks guys for a couple hours of fun checking out the landscape in and around Amery. Although a small town the spots picked for caches really got you all around the town and at some neat places. Phynd and I had a good time doing the Beta test, even found one error. Other permanent caches in the area were good too. Hope to see the event on Geocaching.com next year. You may want to contact KB over in Minnesota about snags getting events OK’d. He seems to be able to work around or through all the usual problems.
Thanks again!
