What could be better than being at the BEST event in the state?
But having Group Site I doesn’t really prevent the Boy Scouts from attempting their shenanigans again, does it? We would need to reserve BOTH group sites for that!
Thanks to all for their input. It was very informative. I have decided to release my first trackable, a Brett Favre Travel Bug Coin. It’ll be interesting to watch and see how it moves.
Its number is: TB2RR42
I read that thread, which is mostly about bugs that came back after long absences. What about stuff just going away for good?
I have just discovered this myself, and am intrigued by the possibility of geotagging my digital photos with my existing technology, and not having to purchase a dedicated gizmo. I plan to try this out and see if (A) it works, and (B) it’s easy to do.
I’ll report back.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Makes sense.
I will bring the pop-up, if there’s space…
Ah, I looked through the forums, but didn’t, for some reason, see the “Camping at the Campout” thread. Sorry…
If it’s an urban cache, use a clear jar or translucent container, such as a Lock ‘n’ Lock. If it’s in the middle of nowhere, use a properly labeled ammo can.
whoops, moderator please remove.
No prob… too bad we didn’t look for the SECOND cache on the island. I suppose you should go back and look for it…
Sorry you can’t make it, Ryan, maybe next time.
However, a small group is still going, so if any lurkers wish to join us, better post before 9:00 AM Sat. morning. We will arrive sometime between 10:30 and 11:00 at Peninsula State Park, perhaps meeting at main office, or at nature center.
Island hopping, a few other (hopefully) winter-friendly caches, and a burger somewhere…
I will post final instructions later tonight…
Well, the more, the merrier, keeping two things in mind: We’ll be in Peninsula State Park, and any vehicles we bring will need a park sticker. I’m offering transportation with my van, but understand if we want to caravan in more than one vehicle.
TheHorseshoe Island trek will be the priority, and then any other caches in that people want to attempt can be attempted afterwards.
We’re getting more snow, so I’m planning on bringing snowshoes. I have no idea how deep the snow will be, but snowboots, at a minimum, are recommended.
The new snow should be done by Saturday, so this is still a go. I am planning on having snowshoes along. More details on meeting time/place tomorrow or Fri. eve.
