When and where is it? Is there a link to the info?
Ouch!!!! Take care of yourself and get better soon. I always hate to see cachers who are denied the joy of the trails. Get well soon.
Or… a hedgehog would be nice too! 😆 After all, we gotta help out the quilled ones, don’t we?
I was thinking one of a more realistic design similar to the detail that was used in the deer. 😀
We definately need to have another coin… but since this is the badger state, it should have a badger on it. 😀
Here is a link to a newspaper article about it.

Great job! My only comment is that moving caches seem to throw a wrench in the works. For instance, it says I did a cache in California… the last time I was in California was in 1987. I took a look to see what cache was listed as in CA and it was a moving cache that I did when it was here in WI.
The nice thing about puzzles is… you can work on them while in the office pretending to really do work… you can work on them while your knee gets better after stepping into a hidden hole… you can work on them and say nanner-nanner-nanner! to the people who haven’t been able to solve them. 😀
I didn’t do this at a party, but I did hide my 9 year old nephews birthday presents at some of the old State of Mind locations the day before his birthday and made him work for them. He couldn’t believe that I had left wrapped up games and things in the woods for him to find. He had a great time finding them. I’m sure what ever you come up with will be a big hit!

Also on the “not to leave” list… matches, lighters, ammunition, knives of any kind… I think you get the idea. If it is not appropriate for children, don’t leave it. There are many families out there who have small children. Sometimes (often) the kids find the cache, open it and are digging around before the adult can get there. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Enjoy the sport… attend an event or two to ask questions, see who the rest of us are and to have a good time.
Speaking of the compass… when I took my cousin and his kids caching for the first time I had each of the kids sit with me and punch in coordinates. I figured they had better learn that there is a little bit of work involved before they get to find the treasure. While waiting for big sister Emma to finish punching in the numbers, Nora found the compass I always have in the car. After looking at it for a while, she asked how to tell what time it was with that kind of watch. I explained that it was a compass and that the needle always pointed North. She explained to me that it must be broken because when she turned in circles, it pointed to the letters E, W & S too. 😉 Ah… to be sweet and innocent again.
If you’re going to Chippewa Falls, stop by Irvine Park and say Hi to the bears for me. LOOK AT THE BEARS!!! LOOK AT THE BEARS!!!
Sorry, I just couldn’t resist. They became my little buddies. I just have to stop there if I’m within an hour of them.
Unfortunately we have company coming from Chicago that day. 😥 I’d rather be with you guys than entertaining someone in their 80’s.
Well, my green jeep was given to someone at the picnic. It was the only jeep I have ever gotten my hands on. Every time I try to pick up a jeep in a cache, it has been taken but not logged as such. One of these days, before I wither and die, I hope to get my hands on a yellow and white one. 😥
