I’m having the same problem, and it’s no better this morning.

I’ve carried on both my Nuvi and my Garmin before without any trouble. I’ve never turned them on though, becuase I just assume the pilot knows where we’re going.

When your wife asks you to go out for a loaf of bread you grab your car keys, wallet, and gpsr, even though the store is just down the block.

Usually I’ll just filter out the disabled and webcams. If I don’t have time to pre-look at stuff, I’ll filter out the unknowns as well. Anything else goes.

The most obvious way to pull alot of numbers is to go where there’s a large saturation of caches. If it were me planning this trip, I’d head over towards Milwaukee, and camp in one of the Waukesha county parks.

I’m really lucky when it comes to hangers-on. I’ve been known to attract burrs just walking through a parking lot!

When I get tired of holding my GPS, I use the lanyard. I agree with Hot Trot – could you post a pic to give us a better visualization of what you have?

Congrats to mom and dad. Who got the FTF?

I have to respectfully disagree with the OP on this topic. Had it not been for cemetary caches, I would have never known about the interesting story of Belle Boyd (See GCZ1NQ), or have been able to visit the only Revolutionary War soldier buried in Sauk County (see GCXPZ6), or learned about a fellow Wisconsin poet (see GCN26B).
I appreciate these caches, for not only do they provide a smiley, but they provide some insight on history as well.

My great-grandfather came over first week of April, 1912. It’s eerie to think that had he left a week later from Europe, one of his options would have been to sail on Titanic. You can look up records on EllisIsland.org, which is wonderful for us amatuer genealogists (my mom calls it “geology”, and I always ask her if she wants me to research the family tree or the family stones. 🙂 )

I visited the SOL and EI last year. Went up into the Statue, couldn’t believe the security I had to pass through to do it. I liked my time at EI too, except I think every school in NYC decided to take a field trip there that day and it was soooooo crowded.

I’ve been running with Vista for about 4 months, and have had no problems with it so far. As far as Cachemate, the cmconvert works just as it does on my XP machine. I haven’t been able to get the Palm Sync stuff to work, so I just transfer my .pdb file to an SD card. It’s an annoyance, but a minor one.
