The Marshman’s Cache,GC336B no dogs allowed. when i did it last august, the views on both sides of the ridge were great.
03/24/2007 at 3:19 am in reply to: What is the strangest thing you have seen while Geocaching? #1871787most unusual at an event, was the dog? we found in a small well type area, that we thought was the cache. must have been somebody’s pet and was buried out in the woods. sure did cool our ardor for caching that day.
i wasn’t out yesterday, but i was out today and kept losing the sats. the trees don’t have leaves on them and the sky was clearing, so who knows what was going on. i like the ufo idea.
found out the wifi card works great. i can update gc.com from libraries and airports. just need to get a new router for the home.
i think you could safely delete those caches from farther away states, and maybe have a separate list for those closer states. keep the main recommended list for just wisconsin caches.
thanks bandits, that got the picture into my profile.
ok, now i have copied the map picture, but when i paste it into my gc profile, i am not getting the map, but the word “image” that if you click on it, the map shows up. what have i done wrong?
thanks, i didn’t know that was there either.
when you open cachemate, up at the top you see the catagory list. (all) or maybe (unfiled). if you click that, you see “edit categories”. just type in whatever name you want to call your list. when you upload the coords, give them a title you recognize and then you choose the category you just made.
i bought and downloaded version 7 last week, but since i was going on a trip, i didn’t install it yet. i think gsak is a fantastic program, and even if he were just looking for more donations, i would have sent it.
speaking of macros—-it would be great if we had some type of macro class at one of our events. i know there are a lot of features in gsak that i have never tried.thanks, gram and gramps. our trailer is up on blocks this year, so we needed the hotels instead of camping.
i really don’t get the concept of these liars caches. getting a group together is great fun, so if that is what it is for, then ok. but reading descriptions is what i base my caching on. i would never attempt something that sounded dangerous.
anyone have trudy camping info for this area? what cities? what hotels?
ah, i just found how to change back to the smaller icons. in the preferences, there is a box for txt size and for the images. clicked to small and was back to normal.
all i’m using are GSAK and cachemate, paid versions. both are well worth the price. that previous link is way too complicated these days.
if all you want to use the pda for is geocaching, then the cheap route would work fine. i have a tungsten T5 and love it. i can play games, listen to music, geocache, and keep track of appointments and addresses -
