there are three henry aaron trail caches, GCXPFC, GCY189, GC9A64 just a short walk from the south end of the parking area, along with the earth cache
ah sorry, we work in the evenings.
woo hoo. i just finished in 139th place! i solved all the petroglyphs, guess i shouldn’t have wasted any time earlier trying to find the key words. i got lucky when i picked a cache to look at in topozone. found a spot that matched someting on the map, and found the place name they were looking for. and all this was done at work tonite. between jobs. yeah right, boss.
now i can go back to taking it easy. the game was fun and frustrating too. i didn’t like the fast forwards. i didn’t have any trouble finding the spots, but i hit the first one on a sunday when the gc servers are notoriously slow anyway. and for the life of me, i just couldn’t match those pictures. but other than that, i thought this game was great. well except for the fact that i had no clue which cars to pick. i hit two correct and two way off. the rest were close, three or four hour penalties. i’m glad i’m done. i’m ordering my coin when i get home tonite.06/18/2007 at 11:32 pm in reply to: Auto-Routing With Garmin. Anyone else have problems with it? #1876186i’ve never used a topo map. is it worthwhile? most of my caching is milwaukee and the surrounding areas. is there anyone that has it near me that would be willing to show me how to use it?
well, i had no trouble finding the spot. but looking for those pictures was just a waste of time. i think i spent 2 hours last nite looking at the caches near the outlaws. my neck was sore, my eyes were sore, my hand was sore, and my eyes were sore. but if i could have found it i could have logged it. it was still up when i went to capture the outlaw. my last vehicles were right on. makes up for the 2 that made me wait over 8 hours.
i have all my caches. i’ll be done logging them by the end of the week. is there anything helpful you can tell me for the final? i don’t have any topo maps of my own. do i need them? did anyone ever solve those petroglyphs? or is that key given in the last couple of map pieces? do i need to solve them?so i had lucky at the vet today, and the test they run showed her positive for tick borne diseases. something that started with an a and lymes. and she’s on frontline. but she’s had 3 ticks so far this year, all of them on her face. so check your geodogs too.
i just got to the fast forward. was hoping to cut some time off, got a 25 hour for this round. spent 15 minutes and found the spot. but there is no way i am going to search all the caches in utah to find one with a picture to match the one given. and then even if i find it, it might no longer be available and have to do that all over again.that’s not a puzzle as far as i’;m concerned. i guess i’ll just go for finishing the game with whatever score i get.
thanks, lb7, oconomowoc might work out better.don’t the corn maze people charge a fee for going thru the maze? and i once heard that they didn’t allow gps’rs
it’s great living in the metropolitan area where there are still a gazillion caches left to find.
there is a bridge over troubled waters near princeton, i think a little north and west. i’m holding off going for that one unless i can’t find something closer.
ok, who has any idea on cracking the petroglyphs? i swore i was going to just let them rest, but they keep calling to me and making me crazy. without a key word, i just have no clue.
my dogs vet told me how to remove ticks. grab it gently and give a quarter turn counter-clockwise. i had to use a kleenex cuz i really hate those things, but the quarter turn to the left did the trick and the ugly thing came right out. course it was pretty close to dead already cuz shes on frontline.
i had a tick crawling on my back last saturday during a play. tickle tickle. finally grabbed it and threw it on the floor. then for the rest of the play i kept feeling things crawling up my legs. but ya gotta stick them in alcohol to kill them and i just didn’t have any with me. i figure i picked it up in the car from our mornings caching. can’t wait till they’re mostly gone for the year.i’ve got a trip to west bend scheduled to pick up most of the rest that i need. got 5 others today in the waukesha/sussex area. and one of them was the ‘not found in 30 days’ one. that was a bonus to my day’s caching. i love that this game gets me motivated to go out caching. but i’m finding this years game very hard. i can’t pick the right car for the life of me. and last year they gave you the keys to solve the puzzles on the map page.
have you noticed the little symbols that keep popping up on the map? i’ve been trying to click on them but nothing happens. i know there is a drawing after the 15th spot, and wonder if this is just the set up for it?Trekkin’ and Birdin’ wrote:There is actually one over near Berlin or West Bend or someplace like that, as well as the one on Trout Lake near Tomahawk, but that’s it!
/quote]what is this cache? i’m going to berlin this weekend.
and for you placers, milwaukee area would work great for me.
