02/26/2008 at 5:38 pm in reply to: War Reporter & Explorer Lowell Thomas LINK to His Travel #1885182That was very cool! Thanks for sharing! And I see your keyboard is still smoking! 🙂
Amazing what one can do in the car by themselves to keep themselves entertained. Only a geocacher would make good use of their down time in the ditch and enter their logs for the day on their laptop!!! Way to go, Accordiongal! You rock as a cacher and make a lousy stuntcar driver. Glad no one got hurt. 🙂 If you had waited until tonight, you could have extolled the virtues of the eclipse while waiting for the tow truck! 🙂
Out doing chores under the eclipse. Remember sledding as a kid on our big hill down to the lake, then laying on the lake watching the receding moon, and hearing the ice shift and groan and crack through the snow. Then back up the hill just to have our breath taken away from the sheer thrill of the speed back down. Back to the lake to watch some more….
The horses thought it was wierd when I laid down in the pasture tonight to watch the moon. “Mom, are you dead? Were you bringing hay, or are you dead?” Only the sounds of the cold snow under their hooves tonight. Good. Didn’t want to fall through anything before I threw hay!
Window view just ain’t the same as the front row seat! 😉
I’m attending the HHAA wrap up meeting tonight after work. I believe the drawing will be done then, and hopefully I can post the winners.
I believe there were over 50 people who attended the Geo 101 class, and about 50 people attended the Borderline Insanity Event. Not all people have logged yet. It was an awesome time, thanks to everyone!
Just a note to all those that participated in the Hudson Hot Air Affair Geocaching Bash: Ten of the twelve event caches have been published as permanents. If you found these during the three day event there is no need to revisit them simply log in those found. To access the list type HHAA into “keyword” and they will all come up, five by Spike007 and five by Da Bloodhound.
GREAT time was had by all…………….see ya next year! 😆 😆 😆
DOC.Bummer! I am so sorry I missed that ride!!! Had a cool experience after parting ways – driving down the road and noticing a fabulous area that really needed some caches, and a Bald Eagle swooped down and started flying next to me as I drove. I slowed the car and we rode side by side for a good 1/2 -3/4 mile. Clocked him at about 40 mph. Simply amazing!
Ahhhh, how I love having my breath taken away! That was one of those moments. Taking the in the view at Zuma!’s Earthcache was another one.
Hmm.. . a day of laughing and caching in Hayward! I’m game! I’ll grab friends that laugh well and can pitch a snowball. Some sledding would be fun, too!
Maybe beer and a bonfire, too?????
I manage to have fun anywhere I go!
I think we’re hitting Menomonie and Turtle Lake today.
How I love caching with handsome men!
Ya know, it’s simply amazing all the new caches in my neck of the woods that are available. Ohhhh, did someone say ” Winter Friendly??” Yeahhhh – if just placed…!!!” Oh, the happy dance!
Accordiongal and I went caching in Redwing today, and met up with other frustrated (DNF’S) cachers at the lack of winter friendly caches.
Hat’s off to Trekkin’and Birdin’ and lagrac for heading out with shovel in hand for the caching they have done. We poked and prodded, and dug and said we will come back in the spring. that was the family friendly version!
DB and I are going to sit out the blizzard at home. Officially planning on enjoying this trek on a clear day!
Dammit, Jim, I’m in!! You know there will be some sort of FTF if Zuma!’s at the helm!
Two Earthcaches!! Waaa Hooooo!
I have cancelled my appointments for Sunday and am looking forward to an excellent adventure with friends in the snow. Now I need to find a sled!
Dearest Zuma!,
I am unable to commit to a FTF trek with you on Sunday, as horse house call schedule takes precidence over caching. [$CASH$] I was saving this hike for a milestone celebration cache. DB will keep in contact as far as his work schedule/availability to accompany you and group. Sounds like a lot of fun. Anybody got a snowmobile??? Sled Dogs?? Tow Rope? …
Sincerely,
Your Stand-In FTF Queen
