    Africa.

I saw it on a travel program on PBS a few nights ago.

What the pictures don’t show is that this is at the absolute top of an absolutely humongous waterfall, several hundred feet (or more) up.

Oh.. do you mean this one? I think you can see it here.

    … I got all wet taking this one… 🙄 … 🙄

Late addition of a video … check it out.

Probably not too many gardeners here… You are missing a great added hobby. I rebuilt my original greenhouse … but needed a little help this time. I’m a born supervisor. … 8) … 8)

Now with the snow gone .. I’m ready. At least these guys bring the refreshments to share.. with this supervisor. .. 🙄 … 🙄

Four of my great grandparents came over from Slovakia (listed on manifests as Hungary) between 1905-7. It was very moving to walk in there shoes at Ellis Island. Statue of Liberty is of course spectacular.

Made a recent trip to the St. Louis Arch, and that is worth the trip — the ride up is … interesting…and the museum has lots of Louis and Clark stuff.

Thanks good friend for mentioning the St. Louis Arch… Been there.. Done that.

I was there in St. Louis with my deceased wife for a “Barbershop Harmony Convention”. Had lunch at the base … and watched the “Air Force” fly planes thru the ARCH. A Spectacular Event. Thanks for reminding me of the good times. Oh yes, I sing too but, that’s another “historic memory”. If I sang now the Arch would probably come tumbling down.. 😆 … 😆 … 🙄

Here is an inside view of that Bingham Canyon Copper Mine.

Not so easy to get this photo.. had to travel through a couple of gallery sites… The Copper coloring is really beautiful.

Now that’s a sink hole!!! That is a spectacular pic.

It sure is… used my little brownie camera .. (not really) I was shocked too. Here is another a little closer to home.

This is the Bingham Canyon Mine in UTAH, the World’s Largest, started in 1863 and 3/4 mile deep… It is still active. I wonder if it’s a Tourist attraction? … 8) … 8)

    @tyedyeskyguy wrote:

I’m not sure that either can be considered a sink hole. The first pic of the damn appears to be an overflow to take on water during a flood.

The second just seems to be a mine, nothing more. And, I would bet I could fly a kite over and not get it sucked in. 😀

Perhaps you are right … all I did was to google “Sinkholes in the world” This one was identified as a Sinkhole” (one filled with water)….

This one was called “The Great Blue Hole of Belize.. in Central America 60 miles off the mainland. I guess there are all kinds of “sinkholes” whether man made or one by nature. I’m sure there are others?

Horn & Hardart were the big guys in it. Not sure if theirs was the first, as I think it was something that started in Germany.

Yes Horn and Hardart were the owners from Germany. Those restaurants had secret Spirit cleaning crews .. photographed with this security camera.

Good find… now how did they serve the food Hot… from a Dispenser?
