It was brought to my attention that those traditional sports always dominate the Sports News and neglect the connection to “Art”. ART?… as seen through the eyes of this Pole Vaulter.

This technical sequence shot in the forest mist is Art in Sport. Are there any others?

I think this thread should become very interesting. especially for some old timers and their first dream.

No Safety belts here… just sit where you can. (That guy on top right looks familiar).

Could never afford this 1925 Silver Ghost model with rubble seat and trunk on the back. Yes, this is going to be a real hot thread … especially with gas at $4.00 a gallon… ❗ … ❗

Never been there but it’s on my list.

I believe it was named Easter Island because it was discovered on Easter. The poor soles that built those statues condemned themselves by using up all the wood on the island to move them. Once the statues were mostly completed, they had to leave they’re beloved homeland for lack of firewood, shade and building materials.

    Wonder where/who their ancestors are?

This may provide a little information. The earliest settlers of Easter Island were Polynesian followers of wind and wave. Something like this.

This is a Rapanui Canoe … Over 1500 years ago navigator Hotu Msatua led a band of explorer colonists across 2 thousand miles of landless seas. They named the new home.. Te Pito O Te Henua.. The Navel of the World. The population soared to 10,000 people. But something went terribly wrong. The population crashed to less than 2,000. It’s forests and wildlife–gone.

Easter Breakfasts … this one among my family favorite collection… LEMON AND RICOTTA PANCAKES.

Lemon and Ricotta Pancakes were made simply with the adding of one cup of Ricotta Cheese to the mix. I loved them with lots of fresh Maple Syrup.

However, if you prefer to save the day just go to Ma Fischer’s right in your Milwaukee Area it is open 24 Hours … HAPPY EASTER … 😆 .. 😆

I believe this Museum on Rt 66 is still there.

It may look deserted but there are some volunteers selling stuff there.

Check it out ..the same ones might still be there.

..I will have to start a new thread on Traveling by Car (What Kind) and Sights and Memories along the way. Getting to old for those Bikes now.

in reply to: Projects Dads Do With and For The Kids #1886348

Here is one project that took three Dads and more than one six-pack. The Kids didn’t mind… you can see it their faces.

Yes, it’s an old Bumper Car salvage from that famous Palisades Amusement Park in NJ. Ever been there?

It took these three guys and several serious consulation meetings to get started.

The final finished project and the kids enjoying it was the prize, don’t you think? There job was to keep it in prime condition for a show and tell project at school…
    …Lots more projects out there… start looking!… 8) … 8)

in reply to: Barbeque Time Are You Ready to Grill Like This? #1886288

I was asked about Roasting Pig … here is one way my Texas kids did it.

This roasting a pig on an open pit… can also handle several chickens.

This is the roasted pig ready for serving in the backyard. A real success at the Christmas in July Party… the kids loved it.
Can’t handle it…Check with your local meat yard for a small pig and make arrangements at local Bakery with a big oven and make a deal to have it cooked there. And then brought to your home for the party.

This Reserve is for Bird Fishing…

Does he have a License to fish here?
    . 😆 … 😆

Let me share this recent story from my New Jersey area. A Red-shouldered hawk soared back into sky Saturday after recovering from injuries she received two weeks ago. The bird named “Laura” after the Ramsey, NJ resident who found the injured bird.

The Red-Shouldered Hawk is a threatened species and an endangered one when nesting in New Jersey. The bird was fed and nursed back to health, and released to the applause and cheers of about 70 people. Her mate (the hawk) found another female while she was gone. Now, a Love triangle problem? …. 😆 … 😆

What is the status of Red Shouldered Hawks in Wisconsin this Spring?
