SlimmY?
We have a couple cache hides call slimmys. You take a ziplock baggie, but duct tape over it and hide it in a slim spot. Sometimes we even glue a magnetic base to it and hide it as well on something metal. The log goes inside the ziplock baggie. So the cache consists of a log, a container and some camo….Does that help explain/qualify it as a cache? Tami
Brian, thanks for your endless hours of “giving back to the geocaching community by approving caches so the rest of us can go find them.” Also, thanks to your family for allowing you to give up family time while you were sitting at the computer approving caches. Thanks a million from the ecorangers. Tami
I agree with Furfool….if you use the attribute “available in winter” that means the park it is hidden in is (or area that it is hidden in) is open during the winter. Thus, on some of our (recent) cache hides, I will write on the cache page available in winter but NOT winter friendly for those on the ground. Meaning come and get it but it might be covered up in the snow. For some caches, I will disable them if they are not “available in winter,” but some determined geocachers will still hunt them.
EnergySaver will take his cache hides a step further and state on the cache page, available in up to 3 inches of snow 😆 Tami12/04/2007 at 11:53 pm in reply to: Protecting Geocaching Within the State of Wisconsin????????? #1881709The second sentence is more about promoting geocaching….I’m still waiting for examples on “Protecting” geocaching.
When an approver shows his/her disapproval for placing caches along a bike trail 528 feet apart and suggest to the owner they place them further apart, are they “protecting” geocaching within Wisconsin?
When an approver states that “we should avoid” parking lot cache hides…..is that protecting geocaching within Wisconsin?
Thanks!
Tami😆 Professor gives a “senior discount” for his Evil Monkey caches. They (senior cachers) log saying they spotted the cache and that’s good enough for him. Tami
😀 Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. Enjoy every stage she goes through because she’ll go through them very fast. Tami
😀 We are thankful for our family and our extended family (that would include all of you reading this). We are thankful that all of our loved ones are healthy. We are thankful that geocaching came into our lives. We are especially thankful for all of you who give back to the geocaching community by planting caches for the rest of us to find and/or hosting events so we can give/receive lots of hugs. Tami 😛
Let’s try again some other time.
Thanks,
TamiMiata, thanks for the midnight Chuckle 😀
Marc….great job at (instructing) your recent puzzle workshop down in Greenfield. Tami😛 We recycle cans. Do they have to be removed before take the cans in to get recycled? Tami
😆 That just reminded me…..yesterday while geocaching in the rain, I found two full unopened beers. One was a miller lite and the other was a Steel Reserve 211. Found them in two different parks. It pays to CITO. I usually bring them home for Professor. Just got them out of my car and into my fridge.
At an event a few years back I found a full 6-pack in some bushes (right next to a temp. cache) and took them. Tami
Earth Angel would like to attend the geocaching portion and pizza!
I’ve done dinosaur hill and raptor’s nest (which you have the wrong gc written above…should be gc12b4v.
I’d like to attempt dinosaur dash and lost cache.
Thanks, TamiWE missed this year’s (2007) because Professor couldn’t get off of work. My family attended the two previous years and we camped. It was alot of fun and a great way to met other cachers from the MidWest. I believe our WGA BOD is interested in bring the the midwest geobash to Wisconsin one year so it would be great to show our support and have as many Wisconsinites attend as possible. We are torn between attending a “possible” wedding and geobash 2008. Tami
Here’s the gc number for the geocaching event page. GC154HT
😀 Super work to all the hiders. The clues helped big time due to poor reception in some areas. We also enjoyed finding the permanent caches as well. Congrats to the WGA board members who assisted in making this the best WGA picnic ever. Wish it was held in the summer (during summer vacation) so the rest of the family could have attended it? Thanks to all of those who went back to retrieve the caches. Looking forward to the next WGA sponsored event. Thanks for all the hugs I received! Tami
Greyhounder wrote, [Becuase they are charging a fee for participation, the geocaching guidelines do not allow this to be listed as an event. By having it posted, it’ll get lots of attention! If I’m free, I’ll be going!

The following event is charging a fee and it is Geocaching.com approved?
